What To Expect
Four generations of family tradition in extra virgin olive oil production are unveiled in front of you! Walk around our old olive groves, where the first olive tree of the family was planted by our great grandfather Dimitris. Step into our ancestors’ paths, on the ancient Solygeia soils where the sacred olive tree has survived through the centuries! Enjoy the spectacular view of the Saronic gulf and the surrounding hills and admire the natural beauty of our region! Follow us on a guided tour to the facilities of our olive oil mill and taste our extra virgin olive oil through an interactive olive oil seminar full of secrets that you never imagined before! Private tour. Includes: Visiting at our family’s first olive grove. – Guided tour at our facilities – Virtual reality video presentation. A Wonderful Experience at Markellos Olive Grove

5.00My wife and I had an amazing time at Markellos Olive Grove! Nikolaos was a wonder host. He showed us all around the olive grove, explaining the origin of the grove in his family, where the trees came from, and the types of olives they grow. Then we went inside to tour the olive oil production facility. Nikolaos explained the process and how they take great care at each step to make the best olive oil possible from each production run. But the best was yet to come. From the production floor we went upstairs to a room that had an olive oil tasting prepared for us. Before we did that, Nikolaos gave us each a virtural reality headset to put on where we watched in 3D the growing of olives and the production of olive oil Nikolaos had just shown us. We could see the actual gathering and production on olive oil. Very cool! The highlight was the tasting of the oil itself. We got to try four different types of olive oil. I have never had anything in the US that compared to these oils. Truly amazing flavor, with each olive oil having its own characteristic. Sampled them on their own and with different breads. What an experience! The visit to Markellos Olive Grove was one of the highlights of our trip to Greece and highly recommended.

5.00We toured Greece from Athens throughout the Cyclades and had never experienced an olive oil tasting before. Wonderful experience and now We have a bigger appreciation of what is known as Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Nicolaos took the time to explain how olives are cultivated and processed. This is a must for anyone touring in Greece.

5.00went to the olive oil tasting as part of the tour group. the location was beautiful, but more important, the olive oil was delicious. at our tasting, the owner gave us a tour and led the tasting. Just dazzling. Of course, we left with bottles in hand.

5.00Nikos, not only offered a beautiful smile when we arrived, but as 4th generation, is so proud, humble and generous as he shares his family’s passion for the olive trees, the fruit, the olive oil, and the industry. 200 year old trees, two classic varieties, modernized production and a VR experience through time helped us understand how a simple product has a rich history with deep roots. We were impressed with the small steps and unique innovations we shared during our short time with Nikos. Our only hope is to return during harvest sometime in the future to smell, taste and experience the passion in person.
