Lunch
Once on board Yacht Chinwag we will give you a safety briefing before setting off on a sail out into the Firth of Lorne to your chosen lunch destination. There you can enjoy a relaxed leisurely lunch, enjoying fresh local seafood before sailing back to Oban. Choose to lunch on board the yacht at anchor or go ashore to one of the fabulous local restaurants around the coast. There are great photo opportunities and the wildlife is all around. There are usually inquisitive dolphins coming to check us out and play in the waves. You can be as hands on as you want on the boat or you can relax and take in the stunning scenery. There will be the skipper and a crew/host to ensure you have great day out on the sea. On your return sail we will drop the sails so that you can enjoy the last sail down the Sound for Kerrera with a dram of local whisky to celebrate and savour the day’s sail.

Laura and Raymond made this a truly amazing day and created memories that will last a lifetime. Raymond is a very experienced skipper and Laura is a really good cook. The seafood lunch the supplied made us feel like royalty. In addition, they are very nice people and by the end of the sail, we felt like they were friends. I highly recommend using Macintosh Tours when in Scotland. Paul

We love Scotland, having been first attracted by the Coos, but then wonderful, genuine and friendly people. Laura and Raymond McIntosh brought that to the next level. Both are talented sailors and Laura a particularly talented chef. The day was a complete joy, sailing the waters around Oban and feasting like royalty. If they have an open date, book it!

Bucket list item checked off. Absolutely an amazing experience. Raymond and Laura were so welcoming when the brought us aboard “Chin Wag”. Chin Wag is a beautiful boat. We got to help crew her and the sites were amazing. The food incredible. All I need now is to buy my own sail boat. Thanks so much for this experience.

In August, my husband, son, daughter-in-law, 13-year-old granddaughter and I went on a 12 day tour of Scotland with McIntosh Tours of Scotland. I will never be able to tell you all the good things about Raymond and his company, even if I wrote an entire book! However, here are the highlights of our opinion: 1. Raymond is a fun loving, fantastic, personable, honest man. You needn’t fear giving him money ahead of time. 2. He is very professional. 3. His rates are very reasonable for the quality of the tour. 4. He is extremely knowledgeable about Scotland and its history. He taught school in Scotland in several different locations and has an intimate knowledge of life, both past and present, in these areas, as well as Scotland in general. He made learning about Scotland fun and interesting. Even our granddaughter never bored of learning the history of the area. 5. He had an itinerary planned ahead of time that was based on our interests, but he easily changed the itinerary to suit things that came up along the way. For example, part way through the trip we looked at my husband’s family tree and discovered his ancestors were McIntoshes! Raymond changed the itinerary to take us to many locations of McIntosh history. How fantastic is that! 6. His personalization of the trip was so thoughtful. He arranged for a friend to play the bagpipes for us and he highland danced – all just for us, because he knew my granddaughter is a dancer. That was truly amazing. We felt like royalty. 7. He takes you to places that the regular tourist crowd is not going to. Some of our most memorable parts of the trip were to off the beaten track locations. 8. The accommodations were great. He checks them out ahead of time, so there were no negative surprises. He can arrange any style of accommodation you want. 9. His Land Rover is new and very comfortable. I could go on and on, but let me say that the 12 day trip with Raymond was one of the best trips we have all ever taken. Our biggest compliment to him is that we all want to go back – mainly to spend more time with him!

Laura and Raymond were our hosts for a really nice day on their boat, the Chinwag. Raymond was so patient with Jim and I, showing us how to steer the boat etc. Laura did so much, I couldn't keep track of it all. I do know that she made us a fabulous lunch and was warm and welcoming. We will remember this day of sailing for a long time. Thanks to you both from Yvonne and Jim. ❤️❤️

I had the most magical day with Captain Raymond and his first mate, Laura. Their kindness and attention to detail, including safety, was most appreciated. The fresh seafood lunch was scrumptious. I learned so much about the Isles and about sailing. Just do it, you won’t regret it!
