What To Expect
Scuba Dive the 2nd largest reef in the world and see thousands of fish and turtles while learning to scuba dive safely with an instructor. Featuring the world renowned PADI certification course, the largest scuba organization in the world and accepted everywhere. Includes some classroom instruction and review of your online work, shallow water skills and four Open Water Dives and all equipment needed. You will do the course work online, once you sign up for the course, we will contact you for some additional information and get you all set up with PADI so you can do the online work. It takes 6-8 hours to complete the online portion.

Five star diving experience! West Bay divers! Joel is the best!!

5.00We had a fantastic time diving with Joel, who gave us a refresher dive and this led to several dives and a first time night dive. His character was gentle, very calm which for me me was extremely important. It had been a while since we dived and he made it seem like we had been diving on a regular basis. The concept of the night dive was extremely scary, but his reassuring nature allowed my wife and I to have an exceedingly amazing experience. We plan on coming back and would want to have Joel as our dive guide most assuredly. This experience definitely puts Roatan on the map for us, and for anyone we will share this with. The entire operation, including Barney, the manager of the facility, and all of the people included from captains of the boat to other instructors was top notch. A trip of a lifetime and an experience never to be forgotten. Thanks, West Bay divers, and especially JOEL!!!!

5.00I was a first time scuba diver and I went with my guide Takeshi- he was very helpful the whole time and made me feel comfortable to do both dives. It was an amazing experience and we got to see some great wildlife. I’m going again with West Bay Divers later this week! Thanks guys!

5.00We finished our open water certification with West Bay Divers and had Takeshi as our dive instructor. Everything was very organized and ready for us when we arrived. We spoke to Wayne to set everything up and he was very friendly via email and in person. Takeshi worked with us as new divers and he had a great sense of humor. He even helped out, mid dive, with a spare scuba mask. We felt like we learned from our 4 dives and look forward to diving with West Bay Divers when we return to Roatan.

5.00Had the most excellent time with West Bay Divers. While I was there getting long overdue PADI certified I got to see how the whole team operate. And I can say you are in great hands with each and everyone of them. They are all excellent divers, trainers, and genuinely excited to share the beaty of the reefs they get see every day with you! The equipment is well maintained. The communication prior and during was outstanding. And the friendliness from EVERYONE was truly welcoming! They want you to not just succeed but to enjoy your time with them and diving below! They care for all levels, even if you just want to come along for the ride while the rest of your group goes under. They cater to ALL levels and people!! Special mention to Marcos for his patience, humor and sharing his island with me :) 🤙 And Wayne for ensuring everything went smoothly even before I arrived on the island! If you are in doubt contact West Bay Divers. They are a top-notch shop and will try their best to accommodate your needs! 12 out 10!! AAA+++ ***I will be using them when I return and recommending them to my fellow divers heading this way!!

5.00My daughter and I got our Open Water Diving Certification here and it was a wonderful experience! Bastiaan was our instructor and he was simply amazing! He was so patient and kind and very thorough! I would highly recommend Bastiaan and West Bay Divers! They have a great place there, with so many wonderful instructors!

5.00We did the open water dive course with Abner over 3 days. It was absolutely amazing and couldn’t have asked for a better dive school, instructor or location. We felt safe and informed the whole time and had some truly exceptional dives. Would recommend to anyone coming to Roatan, was one of the best things we have done all year.

5.00This was my second year with West Bay Divers and I completed the Open Water scuba Course with MEKELA. She was an excellent instructor and I felt safe and confident throughout. After certification, I did 12 more dives with Mekela whom I highly recommend including a night dive and a deep deep. Fun and safe with amazing marine vistas. Barney had things all set up before we arrived and the process couldn’t have been smoother. Very professional! I did experience some sea sickness at first but Mekela always had that in mind and with strategies and the right placement on the boat, it never became an issue.
Best diving experience! West Bay Divers rocks! Joel was an amazing and patient instructor.

5.00My wife and I hadn’t dove in 12 years and we decided to complete a Re-activation course through West Bay Divers while staying at the Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort and Spa. This dive shop delivers an excellent concierge experience. Our master diver and instructor Joel was so patient, professional and fun to work with. (Best laugh ever!) I personally had the most comfortable dives with Joel and I have recreationally dove since 1985. My wife was a bit nervous diving again but Joel put her completely at ease and I watched her confidence grow throughout our dives. This dive shop delivers. From Wayne who patiently answered our questions via email months prior to arriving in Roatan to Barney who was super chill to field our questions locally. We hope to return soon and continue this amazing journey of diving with West Bay Divers!

5.00West Bay Divers was fantastic to work with from the very beginning. They were so easy to book, quick with follow up and so kind during the whole process. It is evident how professional and safe they are. I wouldn’t dive with anyone else. We are a family of 4 with two young teens and I was nervous having them dive (we are all brand new). Joel took us out and he was absolutely FANTASTIC. He made sure we were all very comfortable, explained things patiently to me when I had SO MANY questions and made us feel so taken care of. The dive itself was beautiful with so many INCREDIBLE fish and interesting coral. Joel was very patient with us and made sure we went at our own pace (acclimating). Once we were fully down he continued to check on us and made us feel very comfortable. We had such a great first experience we did it again two days later! This time Joel educated us on a lot of the fish and coral we would see, which was fascinating. We had another incredible dive. I had a little more trouble with my ears this time, and Joe was so calm and patient and helped me until I was able to pressurize. We can’t wait to come back to Roatan and dive with West Bay Divers again. They are exceptional. Thank you Joel for an amazing experience!
