What To Expect
Scuba Dive the 2nd largest reef in the world and see thousands of fish and turtles while learning to scuba dive safely with an instructor. Featuring the world renowned PADI certification course, the largest scuba organization in the world and accepted everywhere. Includes some classroom instruction and review of your online work, shallow water skills and four Open Water Dives and all equipment needed. You will do the course work online, once you sign up for the course, we will contact you for some additional information and get you all set up with PADI so you can do the online work. It takes 6-8 hours to complete the online portion.

5.00We spent 4 days with West Bay Divers in Feb 2026. The first two days my daughter and I completed our open water certification with Nico - we had such a great experience with Nico. He customized the course (we had some leftover confined dive tests) and was very patient with me "getting" some of those skills and took me out early both days to get it completed. Then, by OW dive 4 we felt like proper divers! Best instructor ever. We then dove two more days (4 dives) with Joel and Nico as our guides - wow what great service at this dive shop, now I know what "full serve is". All of the guides we met on the boat were fun and created a great, relaxed and very safe atmosphere. Nico was kind enough to bring his go pro to get some pictures of us. We saw everything from seahorse, eels, baracuda, rays...such a wonderful area to dive. Thank you all! We do need to return....this experience was life changing and we have a new addiction :)

5.00Just finished 6 dives with Takeshi and Abner and what an amazing experience! An extremely professional, nice and safety conscious group of people with a very well run organization. As someone in a review said earlier…they handle and take care of everything , leaving you to enjoy your dives with their great oversight. You’ll enjoy your experience with West Bay!! 5.00Had an excellent refresher dive with West Bay Divers. I hadn’t been diving in years but Joel did a great job of making me feel comfortable again - cannot recommend him enough! Their equipment and boats are top notch, and the dive sites spectacular. If you’re on the fence, time to get down and book a trip!

5.00I recieved my O.W. certification with WBD and had an amazing experience. The staff was verry helpfull. We lucked out and got the most incredible and knowlagable instructor Chiara Girardi. I was certified with my friend and his 12 year old son and she managed to make the skills fun for all of us. After mastering the skills we had a decent amount of time on each dive to explore the crystal clear tropical waters and injoy the beautiful reef and marine life.

5.00We had the greatest experience. Takeshi and his team thought of everything, guiding us through four unforgettable dives. We saw amazing marine life and had a fantastic time! Definitely a must in Roatan - and hopefully you land Takeshi as a guide!

5.00Our experience with West Bay Divers in Roatan over New Year’s was fantastic and I strongly recommend diving with them. Our family of four completed our PADI Open Water certification plus some additional dives with Mayghan Wilson. She was not only extremely professional and knowledgeable she made the whole experience fun for everyone in the family…even the skills day. We cannot wait to go back and dive with her again. Everyone at the dive shop was a pleasure to deal with but if you can dive with Mayghan, I promise it will be awesome!

5.00I highly recommend both training and diving with West Bay Divers. I completed my Open Water Course with them, then 6 fun dives, and 1 adventure dive (night dive). My husband, who was already certified, was able to dive along with me. Mekala was an incredibly patient teacher. She gave me ample time to practice skills and made me feel comfortable at all times. The shop overall is highly professional. Dives are timely and well organized. I will definitely dive with West Bay Divers again!

Abner lead a thorough class and helped us master all the skills needed as well as led us on 4 magnificent dives. Highly recommend and not sure why I waited so long to do it. Can't wait to come back soon.

5.00I had an amazing diving experience with Takeshi and Hannah. I met them at the Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort and Spa where they provided complementary diving experience for hotel guests. The experience was so positive that I signed up for open water diving for the next day right on the spot. I was very glad I did because Takeshi and Hannah were amazing. I can't wait to go back and go out with them again!
