What To Expect
If you have been fortunate enough to visit Lake Argyle already, or you are an avid photographer chasing incredible scenery in changing light, take a cruise up and down the river on Australia's Longest Daily River Cruise - the Ord River Explorer! Be taken by coach at 11.30am to the Marina and one of Triple J's modern vessels. Then it's out into the East Kimberley wilderness, 55kms gliding over an iconic outback waterway, scanning the landscape for birds and wildlife, maybe a freshwater crocodile sunning itself on a rock. The last 15km of the cruise is an exhilarating one with fast-flowing water and narrow paths before arriving at the Ord Top Dam (& you get to experience this twice!). Gaze in awe at the man-made spectacle that made this thriving ecosystem possible, before turning and heading back downstream to a riverside camp for afternoon tea. Nearing Kununurra, appreciate the immense beauty of a Kimberley sunset whilst still out on the water. You will be returned to your pick up point at the conclusion of the tour.

5.00The landscapes were amazing, it was a pleasure to have a nice breeze during all tour since you're on a boat. We have seen crocodiles, bats and birds. Our skipper Chris was smiley, had a lot of knowledge. The teatime was composed of a soft scone, apple-cinnamon cupcake and fruits with hot beverages. I definitely recommend the tour to be blown away by Ord river magic.
Don't leave Kununanurra, without spoiling yourself with this extra special trip

5.00Enjoyed this amazing and comprehensive tour today. Everything happened as planned with pick up, 6 hor trip and drop off all on time without even realising. This is one fabulous trip which needs more publicity. The 55k trip up the Ord River includes wide open spaces, spectacular color-changing hi cliffs, exciting almost rapids in this wonderful purpose built boat, Osprey, masterly driven by our wonderful guide and driver, Chris. His commentary was detailed and enjoyably presented, his passion for the river, it's history, and the abundant bird life was obvious. We wanted for nothing else. Cool drinks were on the house and welcome, and the muffins, scones and coffee a welcome avo break. To top it off, a perfect sunset. How good is this trip. Thank you jjj

5.00Picked up from hotel in large air conditioned coach. Then to old Durack homestead, now a museum. Down to Lake Argyle with sightseeing commentary on the way. Finally boarding our, at times, very fast boat back to Kunanurra, stopping in plenty of stops to allow photographs of the fresh water crocodiles sunning themselves on the rocks plus many birds and other wildlife including rock wallabies. Add a pumpkin scone and a cuppa along the way with a gorgeous sunset and you have the perfect trip.
