If you want to know what the locals on Maui are up to regarding the arts and history of dance, you don’t want to miss this show. This high quality dance presentation enlists the talents and skills of the foundation halau (school) presenting a myriad of regional dances from Hawaii and Polynesia as well as Mexico, Spain and the Philippines. Included is a well crafted historical narrative regarding how these various dances came to Hawaii, including especially Maui. This is an event for the entire family and a great way to teach cultural dance history without it being in the least boring. Rather all the dances (and the dancers) are captivating. Halau dancers range in age from four years old (really….so cute) up to adults. Also included in the event is a crafts project and snacks and drinks. I think this is the best value for entertainment on Maui that also supports the dedicated locals who both manage and teach at the Wonderful World of Aloha. Don’t miss it!

We had already fallen in love with this dance company at their weekly free Polynesian dance performances in Wailea They performTuesdays at 5:30 @ "The Shops", So we were delighted to find out about the Multicultural Dance Spectacular! It is indeed SPECTACULAR! I was gobsmacked throughout! Live music (mostly), with a narrative taking us through the history of the Hawaiian Islands. Because the history is so diverse, the performance includes many different cultures and ethnicities. The dancers (elite athletes) were preciise in their coordinated movements. The costumes are magnificent!! Well worth ones time to bask in the glow of this show!! And visit their museum...

I loved the cultural event that we went to last evening. The costumes, the dancing, the instruments, the history of those who settled and have been a part of Hawaii’s culture were all amazing. I loved it! Since it was Mother’s Day, we got dinner and all kinds of snacks. The mothers received leis made of leaves and, as a craft, we used these same type of leaves to make rosebuds. We were lead on a tour of 3 rooms that showed artifacts and costumes with written explanations of any island or country that have had an influence in Hawaii’s history. These rooms are open daily for you to visit. The dance program also reflected the various cultures that have influence in Hawaii’s culture. It was nothing short of amazing and of professional quality in terms of costumes, music, and dance routines. I highly recommend that you put a visit, activity or ticketed event at the Oni Foundation Inc. - Wonderful World of Aloha Cultural Activity Center on your list of things to do when visiting Maui.

What an amazing experience! The venue is about 10 min. short walk from the Kahului Harbor and for those who drive there’s ample parking. We enjoyed making kukui nut bracelets that we could take home for souvenirs while we had some light refreshments. The mochi and macadamia nuts were my favorite. Loved the cultural tour especially Kuulei’s fun facts… she sure made it fun! I learned so much about the Hawaiian culture I definitely came out with deeper understanding why Hawaii is the Hawaii that we know today, and what makes it unique and so rich in culture. I was blown away by the cultural show at the end. The performers were amazing, that was absolutely top notch entertainment! I especially loved how the dancers came out in their costumes for meet and greet after the show- perfect photo ops! Definitely worth seeing. If you want to learn more about Hawaii and be entertained, this is the show!
