We booked our 2 days tour to and from Yulara with Lost in Australia, but a priori it is Adventure tour. Given the poor rating we give, we will detail the pros and cons. The positives are the guide who is very friendly and his immense knowledge about this people and region. The negatives: a non-air-conditioned bus on the first day. A messy pickup organization and inaccurate information about what to bring. The sunset drink is very light (3 juices for the group) The aunt camp is not in Uluru but in Yulara not far from the Hotels. There is no electricity in the tents, so no lamp or fan as specified on the brochure. There is no campfire and after the meal everyone sleeps. We can’t observe the stars either because the street lights on the site stay on all night. The evening meal is not a barbecue like what we were told: you are allowed a green salad, a coleslaw, a piece of steak very cooked and very hard, a sausage. The dishes are not very clean (explained by the fact that it is the hosts who do the dishes). The breakfast is absolutely correct. For 300 € per person if you come together, I will recommend taking a hotel night and doing activities (ex field of light) with the site ayers rock for a price that will be similar, or even lower and more important comfort. Another option is to also do the tours yourself, renting a car but you will not have the interesting comments of the guide. We took this tour because we thought we had a great experience in the tent camp, as we had in South Africa and Jordan, but it’s a long way from that bad rating. Very high Price quality ratio

This tour was excellent, and thanks to it, I had an unforgettable visit to Uluru and Kata Tjuta. My only regret was that I didn’t plan to stay longer! Hats off to our superwoman guide, Sophie! I am grateful to her for driving the van, managing the camp, setting up the meals and snacks, and just keeping us all informed and on schedule. She was also extremely knowledgeable about Uluru and aboriginal culture and briefed us on how to be respectful of the sites. In fact, all of the group (about 15 or so in total) were pleasant, cooperative, and considerate. Plus, they had interesting backgrounds and travel stories to share. We also covered a lot—even for two days! This whole experience was the absolute highlight of my visit to Australia! I also enjoyed the camping experience. Though I have only camped out a small handful of times in my life, I had a good time camping in the Outback. How unforgettable it was to be so close to Uluru and also see the plentiful stars in the night sky! We took turns cleaning the dining area and were responsible for keeping our own tents tidy. The tents didn’t have their own lighting, but each had their own mini generators for you to plug in any devices/appliances. There were also USB ports for me to directly charge my phone. The meals are prepared by the staff, and we had good lunches/dinners and simple but filling breakfasts. The bathrooms were communal and being shared with other groups. I wouldn’t say they were the cleanest, but they were an appreciated amenity nonetheless. I highly recommend this tour!

Bit of confusion around pick up times - Mitch the guide had a completely different time to our joining instructions but no harm done Tour itself good - but that’s not hard given you’re visiting some of the most beautiful landscapes on the planet The aforementioned Mitch was a great guide - friendly and knowledgeable The big let down for us was the catering and beverages Food was ok When we did a similar trip 25 years ago we had champagne at sunset, nice canapés, the option of beers by the fireside at camp I noted that other trips had champagne and nice canapés and the camp next to us had marshmallows after dinner for the fire - nice touches There was none of that on our trip Very very basic tbh Disappointing Perhaps I missed the reference to budget trip somewhere when we booked it? Lost in Australia (the agent I booked with some months ago) didn’t mention it either So adventure tours - either be clear it’s a budget trip or up your game cos your competitors have

Disappointment is an understatement. Uluru is a magical place. I had been 10 years prior with my best friend. We book a sunset BBQ tour, spent a night in a hotel, and then came back for sunrise on another tour. I was coming back to Australia with my husband, who had never been. When I saw this 2 day tour, I thought this would be such a better experience, having a chance to camp in a tent, and doing sunrise and sunset with one company. We did have a tight schedule and needed to leave the tour early the next day to make a flight at 12:15PM to Melbourne. After much negotiation with the company, I was charged $100 AUD a person for a "10:30AM transport" to the airport, so I would not have to worry about making the flight. The beginning of the tour was as expected. There was a mix-up with the pickup but we then waited at the airport for pick up at 2pm. There were other customers there who were doing 3-day and 4-day trips with us. We were taken to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park (formerly known as the Olgas) for a 2 hour hike. Our tour guide, Mitch, was quite friendly, laid back and knowledgeable. (NOTE: There were a lot of flies.). We finished the tour early and was taken to an area to watch the sunset over Uluru. We were provided snacks,, including cheese, crackers, cold cuts, dips, and sparkling juice. Then things went quickly downhill. We drove to the shared camp site in the dark. The guide said that we were given a cook, so we were expecting a decent meal. (Apparently, usually the guide does the cooking.). We were provided with a basic salad, cole slaw, vegetable and chicken sausage, and overcooked ground meat pieces that I could not cut with a metal knife and that I would not even give to my dog. For the vegans, the cole slaw was not dressed. When asked about drinks, I was told that the tap was "drinkable" by the tour leader. (I did overhead him ask the cook to place a beer in the fridge for himself.). For $595 AUD a person, this was ridiculous. We were also asked to wash our own dishes. Before dinner, Mitch sorted the customers' sleeping arrangement. Those customers staying more than one night were sleeping in "swags," which was basically a canvas sack that would go over a sleeping bag, but did not fully close. They were sleeping on the ground in 40 F and camp fire was to be started. For the three of us that were staying one night, we were to sleep in "tents," small one room structures with a cot and a battery to charge our phones, etc. Where our group was assigned, the "tents" were in shambles, so we were sent to sleep with another group across the camp site. The "tent" did not look like what was pictured on their website. Our battery also was broken and we could not plug anything in overnight. The campsite has a large gender-divided bathroom/shower area that was actually pretty well-maintained given the volume of people going through. There was a lot of hair on the female side. Given our tight schedule, I asked Mitch what the plan was for tomorrow. He said that he would wake everyone up at 5AM, the camp fire would be going, and breakfast would be ready. The plan was to leave for Uluru at 6AM. We came to camp site at 5:20AM the next day and it was pitch black. Mitch was not awake, there was no fire and the meal area was locked. None of the other customers had gotten up yet. Mitch claimed to have overslept since his phone died. He also noted that it was a holiday and we would not leave until 6:15AM. Breakfast was anything you could mix with hot water (tea, coffee, Milo), cold cereal, yogurt, and toast. There was a long line to get food and coffess. I placed the last 2 pieces of toast in the toaster, which Mitch then ate. Mitch then move the departure time to 6:15AM, which did not happen. I had previously been at Uluru at sunrise, where you could stand and watch the sun come up. However, with this tour, Mitch dropped us at an area, we were forbidden to take photos, and had to walk 2 km around Uluru before we could. We basically did not get any photos at sunrise. Once we met up with Mitch, we were given oranges and fruit cake. Mitch then walked with us around Uluru for another 2 hours, regaling us with stories about Uluru, which was quite enjoyable. The night before Mitch also told me that we would leave Uluru at 10:30AM. The plan was for him to eave the other customers at the Cultural Center for a self-guided one hour tour. He would then take us to the airport afterwards. I asked about my "10:30AM transport, " which knew nothing about. He was supposed to take us. He did not know that we paid extra, but told us not to worry. We did not leave Uluru on time. He dropped the other customers at the Cultural Center and did not leave for the airport from there until 11:15AM. We did not get to the airport until 11:40AM. This was quite stressful for me. I did not understand why the company charged me $200 AUD for a stress-free transport at 10:30AM, and did not deliver. I had sent them feedback regarding this tour right after the trip, and I have not heard anything from them Definitely will never do another tour with this company. I cannot imagine why they have so many good reviews. Spent so much money and had such a below-average experience. (We travel a lot.) Seeing Uluru with my husband was the only saving grace.

A great way to experience the best of uluru and kata Tjuata National Park if you have limited time and would just like to do the two day trip.

Worth getting up at 3.30am. If you do it in Australian summer months, beware of heat hence early hours.

Just returned from an amazing trip to Uluru. The scenery was spectacular and I loved the tour experience. Hunter was an exceptional guide. His outgoing friendly personality, enthusiasm and respect for others was evident from the outset. Hunter's knowledge of local culture, geographical information and passion for history, delivered in an engaging and humorous way, were highlights of the trip. Everything was well organised and facilities and meals were excellent. I stayed in a tent with a comfortable bed and slept well. Having booked the overnight adventure, I soon wished I had booked the 3 night adventure like most of the other travellers. We were all having a great time and I was sad to leave the others as they continued on to Kings Canyon and I left to come home to Melbourne. My recommendation would be to do the 3 night adventure and enjoy the whole experience - you won't be disappointed. Thanks Hunter and Adventure Tours! I intend to return for the full tour in the future.

Ty and Tommy were fantastic! Ty was really nice, professional, smart and caring, much more than I would have expected. All these are things that you don’t buy with a voucher, but a real personal skill that made my journey an awesome experience

I had the pleasure to be guided by Lorrie and Tye in this fantastic tour. The experience was just awesome! Lorrie is a fantastic guide and is super nice, has always lots of fun facts and details for you. Tye was also there and helped making the atmosphere even funnier and nicer. We had a rather small group of different age and nationality and we could get along extremely well and manage to get the maximum out of the tour. I joined for just 2 days and 1 night, and could enjoy the Kata Tjuta Walpe gorge walk and the Uluru sunset aperitivo on the first day. The second day was just perfect, roaming around the Uluru base walk and the Anunu cultural centre. I also could experience a night in the traditional swag (thank you Tye)! In addition, they could leave me directly at the Connellan Airport where I had my flight back to Europe. Definitely the best tours you can get around there, I wish I could have done the 4 days tour (which was unfortunately already fully booked) Palya Lorrie and Tye, hope to meet you soon again :)
