This isn’t just a food tour—it’s a light, dynamic experience with zero downtime and full flavor immersion. We kick things off at the iconic Mercato delle Erbe, Bologna’s beating foodie heart. Stroll through colorful stalls, learn about locals’ shopping habits, and—of course—start tasting! You’ll try off-the-radar favorites like crescione (pan-crisped folded pastries with savory fillings), tigelle (warm, stuffed bread rounds), and the show-stopper: tortellino fritto with silky Parmigiano cream for dipping. Expect a casual pace, endless tastings, regional drinks, and no tourist traps. All tours are led by licensed Italian guides, passionate locals who bring Bologna’s flavors and stories to life. We serve only authentic regional recipes for real foodies—no basic pizza slices or spritzes for tourists. This is the real taste of Bologna.

Real Sicilian cannoli at home!

5.00This was the fourth Streaty virtual cooking class I’ve taken and, like all the others, it was great fun and the results were a real wow. My husband and I couldn’t believe how well our cannoli turned out. Tasting them, we felt like we were back in Sicily. Marco and Daniela took us step-by-step through the process, sharing traditional techniques and tips – the kind of insider stuff you can’t get by just reading a recipe. It was very entertaining, too, plus good material is sent ahead of time, and it's easy to ask questions during class. We plan to make all the recipes again, and hope Marco offers more classes in future.

5.00I had a wonderful and fun experience learning to cook arancini. Marco and his mama were great hosts. The directions were clear and there was room for questions and personal assistance as well. The communication in advance was very good as well. I am usually not a fan of zoom meetings but this one was easygoing. Also it was a funny experience to take a peek in the kitchens of other participants around the globe, wearing their aprons and making a mess. I would love to join again!

5.00We had so much fun cooking with Marco and Mamma. Marco sent great directions for prepping and the result was delicious! My husband and I had attended the Streaty Palermo tour when we visited there in 2019 - that was a fabulous introduction to Sicily. In this virtual class Mamma & Marco were able to capture that warm Sicilian spirit and that wonderful sense of adventure that we have missed so much during quarantine. For 90 short minutes we felt like we were transported to a lovely Sicilian kitchen to hang out with an international group of food lovers. Highly recommended!

5.00This was so much fun! We have taken several on-line cooking classes and this was the best. Marco and Mamma have a great set-up, give clear instructions, and make everything fun! The only problem is now my family expect Arancini for Sunday dinner! I am confident we will be able to repeat our success. Thank you Mamma!

5.00The Arancini class we took yesterday with Marco and Mama was wonderful. I feel like I am still full from those scrumptious fried balls of rice, meat and vegetables that we created under their expert guidance. I am so glad we took the class and look forward to more of these in the future! Whatever level of cooking skill, I feel like you would get a lot out of taking a class with them - they are very understanding and there's a work-around for pretty much any mishap. And Marco is full of humor, which also makes the time go smoothly. So much fun!

5.00What a treat to cook with Mamma Streaty and Marco! The class was well-paced and informative. I never felt l hurried or overwhelmed, nor was I ever bored. Being able to cook along with Mamma Streaty and getting her immediate feedback and suggestions on my cooking was fabulous. I’m a hands-on learner, and it is much easier for me to remember things when I am able to actually do them. I also really loved the stories behind the recipes and hearing about Mamma Streaty’s history of cooking. It gave the experience a personal touch. I highly recommend this class for anyone who wishes to learn to cook some amazing dishes. Buon appetito!

5.00Marco and "Mamma Streaty" are absolutely fantastic. We joined them for a cooking class over the summer, and not only was the class fun, but the food was also delicious (thanks, of course, to Mamma Streaty's expertise). They have done an excellent job adjusting their business to function during COVID. We all felt like we were in the kitchen cooking together. Mamma's instructions were clear, and the quantity of ingredients was exactly right! Marco and Mamma know how to run the show, as they kept us smiling, and we finished the session with full bellies. Thanks to both Marco and Mamma Streaty for an amazing experience! Hopefully next time we will take the class in Palermo, but this is a perfect substitute during these times. Alla prossima!
