5.00I learned so much about the different varieties of coffee and processes of making them, and how that impacts the taste. If you think you’re a “coffee person” I strongly recommend this experience! You’ll never taste a cup of coffee the same way again! It was a fantastic experience and Alan and Julio are awesome people! Could not have asked for a better start to my trip to Panama :-)

5.00My girlfriend is a big coffee drinker, and I wanted to have this experience with her during her visit to Panama. Alan was an amazing, friendly, and very knowledgeable host, making the coffee tasting experience even better. Learning about the process and biology of coffee was very intriguing as well. We had an amazing time and would recommend to other couples visiting the city.

5.00It was a cupping experience that I really enjoyed, even if I don't know much about coffee. Alan is very knowledgeable and explains the flow of coffee from seedlings to harvests to the cups we drink every day in a very easy-to-understand way. They also teach me jargon, so I had no problem with zero knowledge like I did. Cupping allows you to experience not only the right way to drink and smell, but also 'why the taste changes depending on the type of beans and the refining method' while actually comparing the tastes. For me, who had been drinking coffee for some reason, it was a series of eye-openers and I never thought coffee could be so profound and interesting. When you come to Panama, I strongly recommend that you first experience Alan's cupping. Joining at the beginning of the trip completely changes the way you taste the coffee you drink afterwards. If you are a coffee novice, this is the time to experience it.

5.00You must do this! It is a tour for everyone. Comfortable air conditioned room. Excellent English and Spanish. It is Informative, fun and tasty. Learned so much about the processes. Don’t confuse this with the hotel and museum. You will taste 6 coffees here. Best hour we spent in Casco Veijo!

5.00This was an excellent experience. Alan is, like many Panamanians we’ve met, a delightful and friendly man. On top of that, his knowledge of the coffee process and experience is superb. While we know a little about the roasting and brewing technique side of things, Alan really showed and taught us a lot about the process which brings the beans to the roasting stage. Truly fascinating and his descriptions and explanations are very clear and accessible. A short talk about coffee processing was followed by a coffee tasting on a truly professional level but not intimidating in any way. Truly fascinating to practise a little of the skill professional tasters use in assessing coffee. This taught us a huge amount about the flavours imparted by different processing plus a lot about the coffee grown in Panama. Gave us an entirely new perspective. To top it off, Geisha coffee was included and it was amazing to experience what a fascinating and delicious coffee it is. Unlike any we’ve tasted and truly special. My wife and I couldn’t recommend the Crafted Geisha experience more. Already a high point of our time in this wonderful country. Thanks Alan!!
