We had a great food & heritage tour with Ashline, our friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiatic guide. Through her, we learned about the history of the different cultures that have shaped Penang, and tried a variety of cuisines (Nyonya, Indian, Chinese, Malay). Recommend that you come hungry to do full justice to all the delicious food and drink tastings! As we walked between the different stops, Ashline showed us many examples of George Town's street art (some harder to spot than others!) and happily acted as photographer She also explained more about local traditions and architecture of buildings and temples, which gave us a new appreciation of our surroundings. Ashline was super organised and thoughtful, providing us with bottles of water to keep hydrated and setting a walking pace that suited the group and producing. Chatting with other travellers on the tour, we all agreed that we now had more confidence to check out more street food independently having been on the tour. This was so much more than a food tour - we're so glad that we did this right at the start of our holiday in Penang, as it was a fantastic introduction to the food, culture and history. Highly recommended!

Tham was our guide and she was very good! Attentive, kind and fun. We tried a great variety of food in different places - chinese, muslim indian and nyonya dishes. A few desserts and typical drinks too, while learning about the history behind them 🇲🇾

We had an epic afternoon/evening with Garrick! He was so sincere and passionate with his way of explaining the cuisine culture of George Town, so generous with his knowledge. We visited restaurants and street stalls which we definitely wouldn't have found without him. Stunning flavours !! We also ended up spending extra time talking about life and getting to know each other further which you usually don't get on tours. Thank you so much Garrick 😊 😊

We had an excellent food (and history) tour of Old Town Penang thanks to our friendly, knowledgeable guide, Ashline. Food tours are so good at getting you to try those snacks or dishes you're too scared to order yourself, or that you didn't even know existed! We enjoyed sampling flavours and styles of Nyonya, Indian, Chinese, and Malay dishes. Ashline walked and talked us through the eclectic mix of communities, cultures, and religions living alongside one another in George Town. Make sure you come hungry, because there is a lot of food to get through!

If you’ve never sampled authentic Asian cuisine before…then this is a useful introduction! Tham was the perfect guide: friendly, intelligent, knew how to read the tour party and adjust as required. We sampled Nyonya, Chinese and Indian food and beverages, along with local fruit - all excellent quality. The tour wasn’t rushed, with plenty of local history added along the way. We stopped in 5 locations for the tastings: 17 would have taken a lot longer! (We were just over 3hrs for a tour of three people). I’ve travelled extensively in Asia but still sampled some new flavours: for my wife - everything was new and she thoroughly enjoyed the palette education!

This Food Tour exceeded my expectations! Our guide, Ashline, was very helpful, knowledgeable and a local. We gained a special insight to the local culture and cuisine which was so interesting. We now have several delicious food haunts near our hotel! Ashline included interesting details about Street Art, architecture, temples as well as about the local dishes we tasted. Plenty of food and drinks to sample. Booking the tour and contact from the company was well organised. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour but you do need to be able to manage walking around the Georgetown heritage precinct, in the heat, for 3-4 hours - of course there are plenty of stops to sit down and eat along the way!

The tour with our guide Garrick was an absolute highlight! He curated a fantastic selection of dishes and drinks, from savory to sweet, including unique local specialties. What made it even more special was that we didn’t just taste the favorite spots of the locals, but also learned many fascinating stories and background information about the dishes, their history, and about Penang and Malaysia itself. The tour struck the perfect balance: culinary variety combined with cultural insights. Informative, entertaining, and incredibly delicious, highly recommended! We would join again anytime.

This was an awesome experience! JS Lim was our guide, and he was outstanding! He gave us a great tour of both the local food as well as some local history. We had an opportunity to try Nyona, Indian, Chinese, and local foods. We tried all different drinks and fruits. I would definitely request him personally if we ever wanted to go on a tour again.
