Areas of improvement: - Based on the tour information we thought we would have 2 hours with the penguins but only got 1 hour - This specific booking should communicate what company this tour runs with in the booking so that it is smoother for check in at the pier. With no response from them on time we had to walk around asking each vendor if we were with them or someone else. Luckily we were there early. - The one male guide we had needs to learn how to use the microphone. On the boat anyone in the back never heard him even when we told him nothing changed. On the bus he was completely staticky. His female co-worker was crystal clear and loud on both the boat and the bus. It meant we missed out on all information he shared. Great things: - Our female guide Julie was so wonderful, clear, and knowledgeable. We loved her. - The boat was great! - The penguins were amazing! - The museum and tour were fantastic!

In November, my husband and I had the absolute joy of joining the Penguin Walk in Ushuaia with the navigation option, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, the experience felt like stepping into a nature documentary — only better, because we were living it ourselves. The navigation portion set the tone beautifully. Cruising through the Beagle Channel, surrounded by dramatic snow-capped peaks and pristine waters, was breathtaking in itself. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate, pointing out seabirds, sea lions, and sharing fascinating insights about the region’s wildlife and history. But the highlight, of course, was the penguin walk. Setting foot on the island and being able to stroll among these charming creatures was surreal. The penguins were curious yet calm, waddling right past us as if we were part of their world. Watching them interact, nest, and play in their natural habitat was deeply moving — a reminder of how precious and fragile these ecosystems are. The organization was impeccable: small groups, respectful distances, and clear emphasis on conservation. We felt safe, cared for, and privileged to be part of such a responsibly managed encounter.

This tour was the best experience I have had! The tour guide provided all sorts of information about the area on the bus ride and the museum/research centre is great. Being able to walk on Martillo Island was a highlight. The penguins are adorable and it was fascinating to see them nesting. The scenery on the boat ride back was awesome but many got seasick so bring your anti nausea meds. Best day ever!

What an incredible experience! From start to finish, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Our guides, Anita and Pablo, were excellent—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of fascinating background stories that added so much depth to the day. The highlight, of course, was the penguin walk. There were so many penguins, and at times we were walking just metres away from them. It felt unreal to be so close in their natural, maturing habitat, and it made for some fantastic photo opportunities. The navigation portion of the tour was equally memorable. We stopped at the famous lighthouse and saw countless seals lounging on the rocky shores, then continued to another island where hundreds of cormorants were resting—another great chance for photos. The boat ride back to Ushuaia was peaceful and scenic, a perfect way to end the outing. This tour is truly unforgettable. Highly recommended—and be sure to ask for Anita and Pablo!

I loved it, I didn’t expect to see so much wildlife in the sailing, sea lions, elephant seals, some birds and the museum was fantastic, I didn’t expect it. I suggest you take the option of walking with penguins because there you do everything sailing in a day, you go to the lighthouse, the Beagle Channel, the hammer island and the museum

I debated this tour due to the cost, but I will tell you, it was one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide spoke both Spanish and English very fluently, and he was extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much! Our experience with the penguins was a once in a lifetime experience and we highly recommend!

I worked for several months to obtain tickets for the Isla Martillo Penguin tour. I was refused first because of age. Ironically, if one is over 75 one can't go, but if one weighs 500#'s and is 50, it's, okay??? I bought our tickets through Azul Latina for 710.00. First, we couldn't find the departure point. It ended up being in a grouping of tiny shacks by the harbor. A girl took our ticket and gave us two passes for a catamaran. She kept our ticket. We went to the room to wait, and I realized something was terribly wrong. We were to go by bus. We ran back and asked what was happening as that tour was considerably less and one couldn't walk with penguins ON the island. She talked to someone and handed the ticket back and told us to go next door to Pinatour. They took the ticket with obvious disdain and told us to run to the bus as it was leaving. They also said Azul Latina wasn't authorized to sell the tickets. Once on the bus with the worst seats left, we met Fabricio, our guide. He was fluent in English and Spanish. We had a lengthy, dusty ride to the dingy. Thankfully, he was informative along most of the way. We crossed in about 20 minutes to the island. The weather was perfect for us. The sun was shining. There was little wind. It was about 50 degrees. We walked among the two species of penguins. They are adorable to watch as they waddle and call for mates and build nests and molt. Fabricio did an EXCELLENT job describing all we saw and more. He is so attuned to their behavior. Some even know him. It has been my husband's dream to see them. Mine was to be close to the explorers that ventured into the unknown of Antarctica. DO NOT DEAL WITH AZUL LATINA. If I had the time I would have reported them to the authorities for what they tried to do. IF you can't get tickets, keep trying. I fear the cruise ships buy up the tickets a year ahead, making it impossible for individuals to do so. It's a sad situation to be honest.

A unique and obligatory trip if you come to this city, it is a long way from the lighthouse to the island of the penguins But it is totally worth it, while you can see the wonderful landscapes that the journey offers.
