They give the expectation that you will see hundreds of penguin marching along the beach but we only saw about 20 and they were far from where we were seated. Huge disappointment! The best part is leaving the stands and seeing a few babies calling for their moms as you walk the boardwalk back to the visitor center. Also, no photography or phone light allowed: no pictures! The Brighton Beach Boxes were okay, the Nobbies were beautiful. But for a 12 hour day with wasted time at a sad animal sanctuary and drive time in a cramped and dated bus, I would not recommend this tour.

It was very good experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. The tours are worth 12 hours and good to see new things

Lots of photo opportunities. Moonlit Sanctuary is great. I booked animal encounters separately ahead of time to make sure they weren’t sold out, which worked out because the wombat was sold out the day of. Penguin Parade is very cold at night so make sure you bring warm clothes! (We went in mid Sept)

Russell was very friendly. He gave sufficient but not overwhelming explanations. The only part that I wish it can improve is a better condition van bus.

Dirk picked us up outside our hotel and whisked us off to Brighton Beach to admire the colourful little beach huts. We wandered down the beach where we spotted a magnificent pod of pelicans sunning themselves on a rock close to shore. The rock was shared with a flight of cormorants enjoying the sunshine too. We moved off to Moonlit Sanctuary where we got close up to many indigenous Australian bird and wildlife. (The sleepy koalas were my favourite of all) Dirk took us along a road with spectacular coastal views to Cowes Beach where we stopped for refreshments and a lovely walk on the beach. Dirk was happy to answer all our questions and told us interesting facts about the geography and history of the area. We skipped the Nobbies Centre due to the maintenance that was happening there, but didn’t feel that we missed out as Dirk took us to a beautiful beach where we saw Cape Barron Geese grazing in the grass and guarding their fluffy chicks which was very special. Next onto the Penguin Centre where Dirk collected our tickets and advised us where to go for the best viewing of the little birds. We didn’t see many coming out of the sea that evening, but it was thrilling to observe those that did. The Visitors Centre has a QR code available to scan, should you want to see photos of the tiny penguins.

The weather was quite cold and windy which really affected the whole tour and complete fun and satisfaction I was expecting. The tour started later than scheduled time and i was waiting about 30 mintues in a hotel which i was not staying. It was quite disappointing that even drop off place was not same to pickup late in evening. The tour time was mainly spent on the road and each stop was short. In overall in a better weather condition and more organized program I may recommend it. Our driver and guide Ron was a nice man. I wish to thank him

We had a great driver. I learned a lot about the island. Our driver was funny, charming and very knowledgeable. He answered all our questions. Unfortunately it was raining buckets by the time we got to Phillip island. We sat in the rain for an hour and only saw a few single penguins waddle up the beach. Im not sure if the amount of penguins was due to the rain or not, no one could say. We had a wet ride back to CBD.

It was a very kind tour. I was happy to see the penguins as they showed me around at a reasonable price. I just don't understand all English, so I wanted the meeting point and time to be simple and easy to understand.
