Toconao (Kunza Rincón perdido) enchants for its simplicity, calm of its people, special climate, beautiful architecture and crafts; We will visit the marginal area of the Salar de Atacama known as Laguna Chaxa located in Sector Soncor R.N.L. F. Later we headed towards the South East (Cordillera de los Andes) to settle in a Socaire Altiplanic Town, we visited its Church and learned about its agriculture. Once installed in the cordon of the Andes we headed approx. At 4200 masl to meet the Miscanti and Meñiques Lagoons. These lagoons belong to the R. N. Los F., characterized by volcanoes and mountainous reliefs such as the Miscanti hill and the Meñiques volcano. Both lagoons are born from groundwater from melting ice. Continuing along the slopes of the South Andes we head to the Salar de Talar Touristically known as Piedras Rojas, where the rocks are subjected to natural oxidation and weathering.

Amazing tour! Highly recommend. Great scenery and got to see some llamas and flamingos. Great food as well!

Manuel gave us a wonderful tour. He was thoughtful in the order, so that we would have the best experience (ex. getting us to the flamingos early, so we could see more before too many groups arrived to scare them off) and avoid altitude sickness. I'm so glad we went on this excursion! A few things to know: - The breakfast is substantial: scrambled eggs, homemade bread, avocado, cheese and ham. He also accommodated a gluten-free request very well. - The lunch comes late in the tour, which, for us, meant 3pm. So bring snacks if needed! - Definitely bring plenty of water. - The hike at Piedras Rojas is not that difficult. Yes, part of the return to the van is uphill but it's not steep and most people take it slowly. Our group was mostly 60+ and I'm 48 and not in good shape - we all made it just fine.

We chose this company because they will pick up outside of town. Our guide Daniel was so organized! We were ahead of the crowds and felt like we had most of these beautiful places to ourselves.

Our tour guide Alex was amazing and efficient! We were the first to arrive at ElTatio and had the place to ourselves for about 15 minutes. We were able to stay ahead of the crowds we learned so much! Breakfast and the stops along the way were great!

Piedras Rojas was simply breathtaking with its contrast of deep red rocks and turquoise waters. That said, this experience was so much more than just Piedras Rojas - it was a full day of adventure and discovery. From Toconao and Laguna Chaxa, where we admired flamingos in their natural habitat, to crossing the Tropic of Capricornio, visiting the stunning Lagunas Miscanti and Miñiques and our stop at Socaire, the itinerary was beautifully curated and wonderfully diverse. Each stop offered a different perspective on the Atacama’s landscapes, culture and altitude-defying beauty. Our guide was not only extremely knowledgeable but also genuinely enthusiastic and passionate - especially when it came to spotting vicuñas, which we quickly learned are one of his favourites. His energy was infectious and made the long day feel light, engaging and full of curiosity. The experience was made even more special by the food. In addition to a beautifully prepared picnic enjoyed amidst the dramatic scenery, we also had lunch in a local tavern-style spot, which added an authentic touch to the day. What made this tour truly unforgettable, however, were the people. We made several friends during this experience and ended up meeting again afterwards - both in San Pedro de Atacama and later in Santiago. It transformed an already wonderful excursion into something genuinely meaningful. The tour was impressively well-organised, with timely pick-up and drop-off at our hotel, and the use of WhatsApp for all communications - before, during and after the trip, including sharing photos - was incredibly convenient and much appreciated. If you’re choosing tours in Atacama, this one absolutely deserves a place at the top of your list.

An action packed day with an excellent driver/guide. The locations on this journey were outstanding, and showcased some breathtaking scenery. It's a busy tourism scene here in San Pedro, but the Atacamanians do it well. The environment and animals are well protected, and that is shown on this tour.

Daniel was a great guide and prepared a good breakfast. We really enjoyed the visit to Laguna Chaxa, the Altiplanic Lagoons, and especially Piedras Rojas. The views were incredible. The only downside was the lunch and visit Toconao. I think this could have been left out of the tour as the lunch was at very end and only 30 minutes away from San Pedro

We loved this tour. Pablo was a fabulous guide. OK we didn't see many Flamingos but you can't expect wildlife to cooperate all the time! The scenery on the tour was simply stunning. I was really impressed with Pablo as he took time to check in with us re the altitude. Also he very kindly returned a sweater that my partner left behind, to our hotel. Highly recommended.

I booked very last minute with the agency and both them and the tour guide, Manuel, were very kind and helpful. Manuel was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights that made every stop more meaningful and engaging. He also went above and beyond by preparing a delicious breakfast that was the perfect start to the day. His passion and hospitality truly made the experience unforgettable, and made me stay longer in the special place of Atacama.
