From planting to harvesting, we had the chance to try every step of the rice farming process – and it was amazing! We planted seedlings, harvested the crop, milled the rice, ground it into flour, and even cooked our own rice crackers (I burnt mine, but it was all part of the fun!). We also made delicious rice and coconut sweet treats. We learned so much and truly enjoyed every moment. Mr. Jeed and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming, and Belle was a fantastic guide. The traditional lunch was absolutely delicious, with so much variety to choose from. One of the highlights was getting to feed and wash a pink buffalo – such a beautiful and gentle animal. This is a must-do experience for anyone looking to connect with nature, culture, and community. Highly recommend!

We used Feast Thailand for transfers and Plough to Plate Tour. We have 2 young children and everyone in their company was patient and understanding. The transfers were on time and efficient. On one of the transfers I changed our hotel and it was no problem to Leigh and her team to change some of the plans around. Our Plough to Plate tour was hosted by Belle, it was very personalised and a great way to meet local Thai people and see how they live/farm. The kids got to sit on the buffalo and learn how rice was made. They even made boats for the kids to race in the water. I organised all the transfers and tour before we left Australia. Leigh invoiced me and everything was planned perfectly. I highly recommend the team!

We were transported in a very nice minibus with a good driver c/w air con. The journey took about 1 hour each way from Hua Hin. The family run organic farm is quite old and traditional and they were very cheerful and welcoming, with the son, who gave the presentation, speaking very good English. I had always wanted to know how rice was made and this trip did the trick. From being shown how they use 2 cows to prepare the paddy fields to then wading in the water to plant the rice bulbs, through to being shown how to harvest and de-husk the plant, then finally being shown traditional foodstuff which they cook from the black and jasmine rice. It was a very entertaining and educational 3 hours assisted by our very knowledgeable tour guide Bell. We collected the salad items from the garden which was then used to prepare our lunch which was served on lotus and banana leaves. The lunch again was organic and very tasty using local fish, pork and vegetables. There was 3 people on the trip, as we are in low season, but this did not detract from a very inspiring experience which we would recommend to all.
