Enjoy a beautiful day with our exclusive and 100% private tour. Our professional naturalist tour guide and deluxe transportation, will pick you up directly from your hotel.
We will travel beautiful roads to the top of the Poas Volcano, located about 90 minutes from the capital. We will see coffee, flower and strawberry plantations along the way. A short stop will be made a coffee plantation and coffee shop.
Once at the National Park, a short walk will take you to the summit of the Volcano and main crater, where you will have free time for take amazing pictures.
Following the visit to the volcano, you will continue to La Paz Waterfalls Gardens. On arrival, enjoy the park attractions with our naturalist tour guide. Explore the multiple animals exhibits including sloths, monkeys, jaguars, butterflies, snakes and more. Take the nature walk to the 5 waterfalls and enjoy the magnificence of this pristine rainforest.
This tour includes a great buffet lunch before the return to your hotel.

Poas Volcano National Park
The Poás Volcano, is an active 2,708-metre stratovolcano in central Costa Rica and is located within Poas Volcano National Park. It has erupted 40 times since 1828, including April 2017 when visitors and residents were evacuated. It is active and has one of the largest craters in the world. Know this colossus without traveling long distances. Not only has one of the largest craters in the world, but is located in the forests of Central Mountain Range, which boasts magnificent natural landscapes: this is the Poas Volcano National Park. Being located in the province of Alajuela, it offers visitors easy access from major cities of the country. This place lets you explore its attractions through a network of trails, especially in a cold climate tempered by a faint drizzle that most of the year is imposed.

5.00This experience was incredible and made our whole trip! I really loved that it was private because we could stop wherever we wanted, whenever wewanted, and take the time to see the things we wanted to see. Unfortunately, we were unable to see the volcano due to weather, but it was still great to hike around the area and experience the different Costa Rican habitats. We loved our extra little stop at the coffee plantation on our way to the volcano. The waterfall tour was absolutely incredible and the lunch provided at the wildlife sanctuary was fantastic! This was truly a special addition to our trip and a special thank you to our guides for making it so incredible.

5.00Expect a some driving as you make your way to the volcano. Fortunately we saw it before the clouds covered the volcano. However, clouds did cover the lake which was healthy wake up. La Paz was great and made better by our guide. He gave us a great trick to do at the waterfall. He also helped find the frogs, and point out all the important items. Doing it by ourselves allowed us to speed up and slowdown as we wish.

5.00We had a wonderful day with Josue, our guide, and Andrés, our driver. We lucked out with an exceptionally clear day at Volcán Poas, with amazing views and minor eruptions. The La Paz Waterfalls Gardens are exceptionally beautiful but be ready for the 600 stairs throughout the park. The gardens serve as a sanctuary for injured wildlife that cannot be returned to the wild and it was a great way to experience Costa Rican diversity up close.

5.00We had a wonderful leader and driver. Nancy was full of info and indulged our wishes for a little extra walking. The volcano was hidden by fog when we arrived but the guide suggested we be patient and in a few minutes it cleared out for a magnificent view. I am not a coffee drinker but found the coffee plantation fascinating. We enjoyed the waterfall garden as well.

5.00We did 2 private Day tours with this company . 1st La paz waterfall gardens en Poas volcano, 2nd crocodile river and carare national park. Both tours were excellent. Great guides, Mario and Alberto and Eugene the driver. The guides gave us so much intresting information about Costa Rica and the flora and wildlife. They were really helpfull with taking the best pictures. Alberto has fantastic eyes, hè saw so many very hard to spot animals in Cararepark, like a little blue/black frog, a viper scarlet macaws, tucans and many others. Transportation and lunch were really good too. These 2 days were a great introduction to Costa Rica! Pura vida!

5.00We were lucky: the volcano gods smiled on us and although there were heavy clouds over San Jose there were no clouds over the volcano. There was a lot of volcanic smoke and gas inside the crater, but that is a large part of the attraction! The smoke came and went and we got occasional good clear views down to the bubbling crater lake. It was a good experience. The La Paza wildlife center was more interesting than I had expected. I enjoyed visiting with the toucans, the frogs, the butterflies and the humming birds, but I especially enjoyed the chance to see an amiable sloth up close in their enclosure. Gerardo was a great guide. He had a lot of knowledge and information to share, both about the specific things we saw on the tour and more broadly about Costa Rica. Thank you!
