Excellent communication before the trip with messages about what to bring and directions to pick up point. The mini bus arrived on time and it was a comfortable ride with air conditioning. David, our driver/ guide was great, giving us an interesting history of Slovinia on the journey. We visited the castle first and David gave us a brief overview as we approached. He accompanied us to buy our tickets which were discounted and joint tickets for both the castle and caves. He took us to the castle entrance and showed us where to take the best photos. The castle tour was self-guided with an audio guide so you could go at your own pace. We were given over an hour which was plenty of time to do the whole tour and buy refreshments afterwards. There were only 7 of us on the trip (there’s a maximum of 8) which meant that we were able to leave at the agreed time for the 15 minute journey to the caves. David took us to the front of the queue so that we were directed us to the English speaking tour. We were soon on the train and on the fascinating tour of the caves which involved the train ride deep into the caves and about an hour walking with an English speaking guide who stopped at various points to tell us all about how the caves were formed and the history of them being found and opened for visitors. Then we saw the rare salamanders that live in the caves. The train took us back to the entrance and we met David back at the minibus for the journey back to Ljubljana. It was a brilliant trip and we highly recommend it as it was very well organised, and great value for money. We learned so much about the castle and the caves and also about the beautiful country of Slovinia as we drove through the countryside. Thank you David for a wonderful afternoon!

This was an excellent excursion in a minibus with our guide David. We went to the Predjama Castle first, and David had told us a bit about it before we arrived. It was a fascinating place, and once inside we each received an audio guide, through which we heard all about the Castle's history and the life of the people at the time. We then moved on to the Postojna cave, which was an amazing underground cave full of stalactites and stalagmites of all sizes, some absolutely huge. We boarded an underground train at the start, and our lady guide walked us through the various pathways and pointed out many interesting places and told us some of the cave's history. It was fantastic. When we emerged, it was pouring with rain, but David provided umbrellas for everyone. There was also a shop next to the cave. I would also like to point out that David was an excellent guide, and provided much information about the places we were about to visit, and looked after us all really well.

Very good experience. Our driver and guide (Nate) was very knowledgeable and funny. He talked us through the fun facts in his own entertaining way throughout the ride to the venue. He also engaged small talk with us which was very much appreciated. The Castle built on the Cave was very special. You need to see it for yourself! The Cave inside is breathtaking, I couldn't stop spamming photos inside. To enter, I also sat a roller coster style train inside to the main chambers which was very cool. The English guide spoke clearly, sharing interesting information. Lastly, the tickets to the Cave and Castle were well discounted for myself as a student. 100% would recommend!

Amazing trip. The castle and then the caves. Due to foggy weather conditions in Ljubljana i thought that it wouldn't be worth going. Out further the weather changed we were able to see the scenery, then onto the castle where we walked round. From there onto the caves. This was all made very spectacular by our super guide Nate. He was very informative. Telling us the history and the dates of what had occurred in the past. I would highly recommend it.

Did the Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle tour today from 1.15 to 6.30pm. Picked up on time by David on an eight person van tour. David was very professional, courteous and quite knowledgeable on all things associated with the tour and Slovenia in general. The cave system is something hard to put into mere words, particularly as it’s the third largest in the world. Not to be missed. Thanks David.

This tour was not completely what I expected. Our driver, David, was very knowledgeable and imparted some great information about Slovenia and the region we were headed to. But I didn't realize he was not our tour guide for the two places we visited. For the Predjama castle we were given audio guides which I tend to not use (preferring having an actual guide with me), but which did impart some interesting tidbits about the various rooms & items within the castle. And while I do like having an in person guide, having an audio guide instead did give us the freedom to spend as much or as little time in each section of the castle as we wanted, take time for various photo ops, etc. For the Postojna caves, we did have a guide. But again I didn't realize it wasn't going to be David but rather a guide there, where they take in massive groups at a time so our small group of 8 was thrown in with another 50-60 people which made the tour itself a bit less enjoyable. The tour also has us walking through various sections of the cavern very quickly with very little time for photo opportunities and my husband and I fell behind from constantly stopping to take pictures and ended up missing some information on a few of the sections we walked through as the guide was not stopping and waiting very long before moving along. Despite this I think the tour was still highly enjoyable overall. If there was a way to have a smaller group in the caves I think that would be great, but it doesn't look like that's how they have it set-up so I don't know that that is possible. Would still recommend this tour. I fully expected the caves to be the highlight of the tour for me but it ended up being the castle which had some interesting history and was quite a lot of fun to walk through and visit.
