A good skip-the-line experience, although we had to wait 25 minutes for tickets (as the staff went to obtain them.) Our guide was smart and engaging, although he limited our 1 hour and 10 minute tour to three major artists, and never mentioned El Greco among other major works in the collection.

Great tour and guide. 90 minutes went by so fast! Next time i would book longer. I enjoyed our tour guide. Imparted history and details of art.

This should not be confused as an “art” tour. This was more of a very long Spanish history lesson. Very little dialogue described the artists talents and techniques. The guide was difficult to understand, the tour group was very large causing members to get separated from the guide. Very few artists works were explained or spotlighted. I felt this was a huge waste of my time and caused me to have nothing positive to say about my whole visit to the museum that should have been the best in the world. We left and toured the Sofia Museum on our own and had a delightful time viewing some great works of art and just reading the wall signs. Im a member of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, a much smaller museum , but the tours are far superior. Additionally, I’ve done art tours in some of the most famous museums in the world- Rome, Florence,Paris( many museums), Amsterdam, Berlin to name a few and they were true art tours, not history lessons. This was a major disappointment.

Ana was a wonderful guide throughout the museum. She was knowledgeable of the artists and their works. Gave a perspective and view of the paintings we saw. I give a 4 star due to The headsets coming in and out , need to be checked .
