Preah Khan
Preah Khan means ( Royal Sword ) is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia, built in the 12th century for King Jayavarman VII to honor his father. It is located northeast of Angkor Thom and just west of the Jayatataka baray, with which it was associated. It was the center of a substantial organization, with almost 100,000 officials and servants. The temple is flat in design, with a basic plan of successive rectangular galleries around a Buddhist sanctuary complicated by Hindu satellite temples and numerous later additions. Like the nearby Ta Prohm, Preah Khan has been left largely unrestored, with numerous trees and other vegetation growing among the ruins.
Ta Prohm
Ta Prohm ( ancestor of Brahma ) is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara ( royal monastery ). Located approximately one kilometer east of Angkor Thom and on the southern edge of the East Baray, it was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII, as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm is in much the same condition in which it was found: the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors. UNESCO inscribed Ta Prohm on the World Heritage List in 1992. Today, it is one of the most visited complexes in Cambodia’s Angkor region. The conservation and restoration of Ta Prohm is a partnership project of the Archaeological Survey of India and the APSARA.

We had such an amazing time in Siem Reap thanks to our guide, Panha. From the very beginning, he made everything feel so easy and enjoyable. He was extremely knowledgeable about Cambodian history, culture, and daily life, and he shared so many fascinating insights that really brought the temples and the country to life for us. Panha was also incredibly flexible with our schedule. Nothing was ever a problem – he happily adjusted plans when needed and always had great suggestions for how to make the most of our time. On top of that, he was just so easy to chat with! Whether we were asking about the temples, Cambodian traditions, or even current events, Panha had thoughtful answers and engaging stories. Thanks to him, our family came away with not only beautiful memories of Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples, but also a much deeper appreciation for Cambodia as a whole. I would 100% recommend Panha to anyone coming to Siem Reap – you won’t find a kinder, more knowledgeable, and more accommodating guide.

When Panha met us at the airport we quickly realized he was our guy for the trip. He knew everything about the town, from bars to restaurants, also helped us the following day pick the best temples to go see. I was shocked at how educated he was on the area. Very helpful, very smart and very kind... for me that’s a home run when I travel. I highly recommend

Panha was amazing. He took us to the temple at dawn in an air conditioned van. Asked us what we wanted to see and got us back to our hotel on time.

We had never been to Cambodia and Panha made us feel right at home. He was flexible with our schedule and even helped us from the airport, all with a smile on his face. We asked for certain temples at Angkor Wat and he was very willing to take us to whichever ones we wanted. These temples are amazing and even better with a knowledgeable guide. We learned about Cambodian history and current events and even got food recommendations! The best time to go is for sunrise.... so it is an EARLY morning (don't stay out too late on Pub Street!), but it is so worth it. Our hotel packed us breakfast to have and we enjoyed it in an Air-conditioned spacious van that was just for the two of us. I highly recommend Angkor Cab and this tour that gets you to some of the coolest temples around - including the "Tomb Raider" temple where the trees are growing right through and on top of the structures! Thanks again for an awesome time :) **Make sure you have your knees and shoulders covered when entering the temples - men and women- no low necklines either** And bring some small cash for water souvenirs etc in Angkor*

If you want a boring tour get on a bus. If you want a tour that you get to see the real Cambodia, go with these folks. They make you feel very safe, secure, care about your experience, really know the insides and outs of Cambodia. And we had a great time and a lot of fun.

I have nothing but praise for the fantastic tour that our guide took us on. Starting with our early morning trip to see the sunrise over Angkor Wat then on to several temples in the area including Ta Prohm and Preah Khan.We were treated to a great history lesson on the area. We only wish we could have stayed longer in Krong Siem Reap and visited more of the area and its historical attractions with our guide and driver Panha. We will plan to go back in the near future.
