Guide was great . She was a lot of fun but very informative. Bus drivers were excellent. They must have the courage of a lion and the reflexes of a fox to drive those roads. Would highly recommend!!

  • Great tour, but our guide...

Great tour, but our guide was really confused. She was searching her words, didn't tell us how long we had when we stopped, and never explained why we had to take another bus to go for lunch. The places we visited were great, but the guide was disapppointing. Oh, and bring food! We had lunch at 2 pm... we were starving!

  • A must do!

The company is poor at communicating. We never received a pick up time hence we missed the tour. When contacted to ask if we could catch up. We were told it was too hard. They claim they rang us 4 times there were no calls on our phone. The email in April gave us a location for pick up but no specific time. And of course no refund. Not impressed. We hired a taxi van to do the trip for quarter of the price.

  • A Tour Not To Be Missed!

An excellent, well organised tour with our guide, Marysol, looking after us very well and providing us with much information at each site. Particularly enjoyed the Hagar Qim Temples and the Ghar Dalam Cave - both their adjoining museums also proved very interesting. The Blue Grotto is not to be missed. Lunch was delicious but service was slow. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

This was a good tour if you want to see several sites in one day without having to organise transport yourself. However too many people on the tour and several tour groups in the same places at the same time. A lot of time spent organising groups and various coaches which was rather tedious. Although good to see several places of interest there wasn't really time to appreciate them fully due to limited time at each stop. Guide was knowledgeable and provided comprehensive and interesting commentary. Included lunch was OK but nothing special

  • All in all, it was a nice experience

Firstly, Althea was an amazing tour guide. You could really hear and feel her passion when she was relaying the information. The highlight, in my opinion, is the Hagar Qim Temples. It's such a shame that it was raining when I visited (which is the risk I took booking this experience for November), but the landmark is very impressive. Because of the terrible weather, I couldn't visit the caves at the Blue Grotto (again, a risk I took). Ghar Dalam Cave and Museum was also pretty impressive. You don't go too deep into the cave as it is dangerous and for the protection of the animals still living there. The lunch was quite tasty. You have it in Marsaxlokk, which is a fishing village. It was therefore no surprise that the main was fish and chips, but because I don't eat fish, Althea kindly asked that they replace mine with chicken instead. I do have to agree with a previous reviewer regarding the allocation of the bus. There was clearly a lot of confusion and rain did not help the situation. Why not have numbers on the bus or colour code them to make it easier to allocate people? All in all, it was a nice experience. The history of the Hagar Qim Temples was definitely my favourite part.

  • A bit of a mixed experience

Overall, this was a bit mixed. On one hand, the operator tried to cram as much into one day as possible. But, that meant feeling frustrated by not having enough time at any of the stops to really get the most our of them - especially Hagar Qim which was a 30 minute stop & we didn’t even have time to see the exhibits in the visitor centre. The Blue Grotto was a 15 minute stop before being told to get back on the bus where we then waited for 20 minutes for the afternoon guide to arrive! The lunch at Marsaxlokk exceeded our expectations, and a welcome part of the day. But … they weren’t ready when we all arrived and the “village” itself was a bit disappointing. The harbour/marina area was nice, but there was heavy industrial buildings at the far side. I’d say, the town was not at all what we expected and was much more built up. We then headed to visit a famous cavern - I confess, we didn’t even bother to go in. By this point we’d had enough (those who did go in were out again in about 20 minutes). There was a lot of time hanging around waiting to be allocated to buses which detracted from the day a bit. This could have been much better with a reduced program and more time at stops.

  • Delays Ruined the Day

Was really looking forward to this trip but as it was Friday 13th something was going to happen! Coach picked us up and took us to a bus park where everyone went their separate ways for the different tours. You'd think it would be straight forward getting people on to the correct coaches but no. It was chaos. Our coach hadn't arrived so we were told to wait on the coach we arrived on. Trouble was they were letting people onto our coach and asking people to get off as well! We moved up towards the front of the coach so that we could hear what was happening. Our coach finally arrived but we were now running late and were the last coach to leave. On to our first stop the quarry museum. 3 other coaches were already there. The two audio visual cinemas were busy so we had to wait 20mins before we could go in. Once the film was finished, which was interesting, we went to look around the museum. We were given an audio headset which wasn't much use really as it told you the same thing that you'd already heard in the film. No sooner had we got outside to look around the heavens opened! We had hardly anytime anyway to look around before we were expected on the coach. The road up to the coach was like a river! Lots of people got wet feet. Next stop was the temple of Hagar Qim. Great! Fascinating to see! It had a sister temple but we were told we couldn't go down to see that as it wasn't included in our ticket. From there we moved onto what should have been an optional boat trip to the blue grotos. The guide said the boats weren't running due to the previous rain storm but it was brilliant sunshine? Anyway when we got there he said you've 30mins instead of the 1 hour we should have had. Obviously trying to make up for lost time earlier. It turned out the boats WERE running as it was lovely and sunny. I asked if we could go on them but the guide said no, we have to go. Yes... We have been running late everywhere up to now that's why! Really angry and frustrated that we could only watch the boats go in and out of the caves. If we had begun our tour on time and not been delayed at the quarry we would have had plenty of time!! Next on the agenda we thought was lunch but no we went to the Ghar Dalam cave. The guide gave a long talk on the bones that were found there before taking us down to the cave. The cave was okay but we have seen much better examples in other countries. Finally we headed off to lunch in a fishing village overlooking the power plant. The meal was; bread, pasta starter, sea bream (with the head on) with fries & salad, and a chocolate profiterole dessert. It was nice but the fish had lots of bones in it. By the time we had eaten it there was only 10mins to look around at the market which was packing up anyway before we had to head back. This proved that the delays in the morning cost us dearly messing up everything afterwards. The coach went back to the caves car park where everyone had to swap to other coaches or minibuses to get back to their hotels. We ended up in a minibus which was packed. You couldn't move. It was uncomfortable and the air con wasn't strong enough. Was so glad when a few people got off so that there was some space! All in all it turned out to not be the day we expected at all.
