We had an amazing time with Ray as our driver. Had great choices in wineries to go to and included everyone on the tour as much as possible. Very knowledgeable in backround information from awards and competitions to the regions and the surrounding areas. A unique experience and not just a driver taking you from place A to B!!

As a West Australian, thoroughly enjoyed the day with my wife, celebrating our wedding anniversary and the banter with the eight English tourists who had come to watch the cricket. Ha ha Shane the driver picked us up on time and provided great commentary as we wound our way through the Margaret River Wine region, visiting Wineries and lunch at a Brewery. Recommend

As this was our first, and probably our only visit to the Margaret River region we wanted to visit some of the renowned Margaret River wineries with a small group of likeminded souls and not be on some sort of booze cruise, so we booked this trip with Tannin Road primarily because they did small groups and would pick up from our accommodation in Busselton, and the trip did not disappoint. Good communication at time of booking and leading up to the day and the pickup was on time, and we were pleased to find that it was just seven of us in a nine-seater van. It turned out to be our guides (Rachel I believe, but the trip was back in August and the memory fades) first day working with Tannin Road, so the information flow wasn’t as slick as it could have been, but that was secondary on the day to the wine and the beer and being chauffeured in between. In that respect the day was a visit to four cellar doors (three where the tasting was covered in the trip), an excellent lunch stop in the Beer Farm Microbrewery and an obligatory visit to a chocolate factory. For the tastings the initial Jilyara Winery was probably the most interesting and the enthusiasm for her product and her industry of Maria the owner, really shone through. Fermoy wines were probably the best on the day. What was nice here was that you were given a menu of twenty-one wines grouped into sparkling, white, red and rose, and could choose your own preference of six to taste. This allowed my good lady to focus on the sparkling and rose wines, whilst I put my focus on the reds. And in this respect their 2019 Reserve Cabinet Sauvignon was the wine of the day, but then it was probably also one of the most expensive at $99 a bottle. And the young lady in the Thompson Estate really knew her stuff but their wines really didn’t do it for us. As a beer drinker I really appreciated the lunch stop in the Beer Farm and for a small brewery they are knocking out some good stuff and you can get a tasting padel of four of their beers for $21. The food wasn’t bad also. All in all, an excellent day being chauffeured about, sampling some of the region’s best products.

Our tour guide Jeff was punctual on pickup and our day was the best. We had a fabulous group who were all at different levels with their wine knowledge/appreciation and nobody was made to feel uncomfortable. We visited Vineyards which all produced quality wines and were very interesting . Our lunch at ‘The Beer Farm’ was excellent from burgers to pastas to pizzas. A truly memorable day and for us, Fermoy Vineyard was the winner of the day. Thanks Jeff for a well organised tour with great commentary. Michelle & Pete NZ
