It is located in the northern area of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and is renowned as the filming inspiration for the floating “Hallelujah Mountains” in James Cameron’s Avatar. 5.00We had an absolutely incredible experience with China Journey Expert during our two-day private guided tour in Zhangjiajie. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, everything was seamless and thoughtfully planned. They even took us to a wonderful local lunch before heading straight to the Grand Canyon, where we experienced the famous glass bridge, zip lining, virtual reality hot air balloons, the glass slide, and an unforgettable hike along the river. Every activity was amazing, but what really stood out was how efficiently everything was organized. Transportation was smooth every day, with pick up in a huge comfortable bus and reliable drop offs back at our hotel, making the entire trip effortless. Our guide, John, was outstanding. He expertly navigated the crowds and helped us avoid long lines, allowing us to fit so much into just two days. Thanks to him, we were able to fully enjoy all the highlights without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The Avatar Mountains were absolutely breathtaking. Truly a once in a lifetime sight. Riding the Bailong elevator to take in that breathtaking view was incredible, and the tram ride down also offered stunning views the entire way. John also made sure we didn’t miss the monkeys, which was a fun highlight, and was incredibly patient and accommodating when our teens wanted to shop for souvenirs. He made the experience feel personal and stress free. I can’t recommend China Journey Expert enough. Honestly, I can’t imagine trying to navigate Zhangjiajie without a guide—this company made the experience unforgettable.

5.00This Tour was exceptional. A busy day but worth the effort. We had a clear day for day 1. Day 2 was rainy and overcast. Check the weather ahead of schedule and prepare for the weather. Make sure to setup Alipay and/or WeChat. Saves the hassle of cash. Our guide Yeena, was exceptional. English A+ would not hesitate to recommend her as a tour guide. Zhangjiajie Wilderness and Wulongyuan did not disappoint. March was a perfect time as not very many tourists but the weather was cool, so need layers and good hiking shoes.

She speaks exceptional English which was a blessing, and was a delight to be around. Not all guides are created equal…she was superior and exceeded all our expectations!!

5.00We did a two-day tour covering Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain, and it was honestly one of the most incredible places I’ve ever visited. The highlight for me was definitely the Avatar Mountains in Yuanjiajie — seeing those huge stone pillars rising out of the mist felt like stepping into another world. Photos really don’t do it justice. Tianzi Mountain had amazing views as well, and Tianmen Mountain on the second day was also impressive, especially the long cable car ride and the glass walkway. Everything was well organized and our guide made the trip easy and enjoyable. If you’re visiting Zhangjiajie, make sure you see the Avatar Mountains — they’re unforgettable.
