South Queensferry

This idyllic and picturesque town offers us its High Street with colorful houses just as if we were already in a small town in the Scottish Highlands with 17th century houses and typical Scottish-style pubs.

Forth Bridge

Impressive bridge and construction that gave it the title of World Heritage Site by Unesco. The longest of its kind with more than 2.5 km.

Forth Road Bridge

In 1964 this impressive bridge that forms the set of the 3 bridges in Edinburgh, was opened to traffic and at this time the ferry that transported passengers from North to South Queensferry was in disuse. Another of the 3 longest bridges in the world in its style, exceeding the first one in length.

Queensferry Crossing

Given that the Forth road bridge was not enough to absorb all the existing traffic, in 2017 this third bridge with a different structure than the previous two and a longer length was inaugurated. Each of the three are among the longest in the world in their style.

St. Andrews

The cradle of Golf, filming location for "Chariots of fire", ancient old town, the third oldest university in the entire English-speaking world, etc. We will go back through its central streets and we will stock up on our lunch.

St Andrews Cathedral

Visit the ruins of the impressive cathedral that was once the largest in all of Scotland and a place of pilgrimage. Here came the relics of the Apostle Saint Andrew, which gave rise to the later name of the town and the flag of Scotland.

St Andrews Castle

House of the Bishop of St. Andrews and witness to the defense of the country against the English, this fortress has much to tell. We will take some photographs from the outside of its impressive ruins to continue our intense itinerary.

University of St Andrews

Since 1413 the University of St. Andrews has been one of the most important in the whole of the United Kingdom. We will photograph ourselves in its central patio as well as walk along some of its faculties and we will see the chapel of San Salvador in it.

The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews

The oldest golf club in the world and that created the first rules to practice this sport. We will pass by its headquarters and Old golf course.

Dundee

The fourth city in population in Scotland, with around 150,000 inhabitants, it is famous for its graphic industry and known for being the city where the first computer in the world sold to NASA was built. It also houses the famous Navios; Discovery & the Unicorn Frigate.

Discovery Point

The Discovery is a typical British-built sailboat inaugurated in 1901 and built in these Dundee shipyards in Scotland where it rests. To this Scottish research sailboat and his captain Scott we owe, among other discoveries, the positioning of the true South Pole in Antarctica, which cost them two years of encayamiento in the ice of said pole to which they survived. We will take some pictures with this important sailboat.

Dunkeld

Beautiful Scottish-style town that suffered the damage of the Jacobite wars against the British army. It was an important town when King Scot Kenneth MacAlpin brought the relics of St. Columba of Iona to his cathedral in the 9th century. First Scottish king to unify the Picts, Vikings and Irish peoples who occupied Scotland as the Scots.

Pitlochry

Beautiful Victorian-style town where we will walk through its High Street and have a nice coffee. Visited in 1846 by Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert who loved Scotland so much, it was the first Scottish town where the tourist boom exploded.

Aviemore

Base town for adventure and mountain sports in the Cairgorms National Park, the largest in Scotland. We will take some photos of its picturesque railway station.

Inverness

Or what is the same the capital of the Highlands or Highlands !. Beautiful and small city center where we will rest in the care of its castle, cathedral after walking a few minutes along its river Ness!

Depart from the capital of the Highlands to the beautiful Caledonian Canal and the Lake District of Scotland.

Caledonian Canal

Inaugurated in 1822 and designed by the Scottish engineer Thomas Telford, this canal connects the North Atlantic Ocean with the North Sea, crossing all of Alba-Scotland. Today we will travel following its route between beautiful forests and lakes.

Loch Ness

Finally we arrive yes! to the immense Loch Ness. At almost 38 km in length, 236 meters in depth and 56.5 km in area, this lake, one of the largest on the planet, contains more fresh water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined. Welcome to Nessie's house where we will sail on a large catamaran.

Urquhart Castle

We will disembark at the ruins of the imposing Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness. Carbon fourteen probes date rocks here from the 7th century.

Fort Augustus

Bucolic town that we will visit at the beginning of Loch Ness. Its level locks for small boats and pleasure yachts offer us beautiful views that we will enjoy in addition to a lunch or coffee on the shores of the lake, spectacular views.

Glenfinnan Viaduct

And we arrived at one of the most famous places for Harry Potter lovers; the viaduct through which the Harry Potter train the "Jacobite train" actually circulates and that appears in the saga, a place of pilgrimage for lovers of the same.

We will also see Lake Shiel where the location of the Howgarts school of magic is filmed. Also famous point of visit for lovers of the great series on the history of Jacobite Scotland; Outlander! here Prince Bonnie Charles Stuart really landed in 1745 from where together with the clans of the Highlands or Scottish Highlands he would begin his war against the British army expelling them from the country .....

Neptune's Staircase

Neptune's staircase. The longest locks in the whole of the UK and part of the Caledonian Canal. We will see them at Fort William.

Fort William

Also known for fans of the historical series "Outlander". Known as the capital of outdoor activities in the whole of the United Kingdom, we will rest at the foot of the highest mountain in the UK; Ben Nevis, a true pilgrimage site for mountaineers. Of course we will visit some of the typical taverns of the town.

After having enjoyed incredible and beautiful movie landscapes and having our succulent breakfast, we will head towards the capital of Scotland but still with an intense and wonderful tour of mountains, lakes and castles.

We enter the most spectacular high-altitude valley of Alba-Scotland and that is why along this bucolic valley, movies and series such as; Braveheart, Rob Roy, James Bond 007, Harry Potter and Outlander to name the best known. Welcome to the Valley of Tears, in it we will tell you a sad story ...

Loch Lomond

This one we visit is the largest lake in all of Scotland and therefore in the whole of the United Kingdom. It does not contain more water than Loch Ness but it does offer more extension with an area of approximately 70 square km.

Luss

Beautiful little conservation village on the shores of Loch Lomond and that experienced its tourist boom from the filming of the British series in the 80s; "High Road". In its origins as early as the 6th century it was a concentration area for Picto Druids. We will tell you more about its history and St. Kessog in the beautiful walk through it.

Stirling Castle

Impressive fortress and twin brother of Edinburgh Castle that we will visit in the following days. Stirling Castle is where the Queen of Scotland was crowned; María Estuardo with only 9 months of age and known as "The gateway to the Highlands" is said who conquered this castle dominated Scotland, for this reason the English King Edward I attacked it in the 18th century, but William Wallace in the Battle of Stirling Bridge defeated him and returned to Scotland in 1297, as would years later the King of Scotland Robert the Bruce with Edward II of England, managing to maintain the sovereignty of the attacked Scotland!

We arrive today after an extensive and beautiful content to the "Athens of the North" and a World Heritage Site; Edinburgh. We visit the best known fortress, one of the best known in the world and the most assaulted in the entire history of Scotland and the United Kingdom; "The Edinburgh Castle" where they are among many other things; The Scottish Crown Jewels and the Stone of Destiny where the Kings and Queens of Scotland were crowned. Since Celtic times and more than 7,000 years there has been human activity in this area as well as in the castle since the 12th century at least. This like many other greats is a succession of them. Sitting on pure volcanic rock you will know what was the house of Queen Maria Estuardo ....

Writers' Museum

Dedicated to famous writers and novelists; Robert Louis Steveson, Walter Scott and the poet Robert Burns will visit this bucolic 17th century house / palace.

Greyfriars Kirk

Chilling cemetery offered by the Queen of Scots Mary Stuart to the city of Edinburgh, we are talking about the 15th century ..... due to the proximity to the historic Edinburgh medical school, numerous bodies were stolen here for sale and research to the itself. Along with it was written by J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and some of the names of the characters of the famous saga were ideas of the inscriptions on these tombstones ..... sinister and important place ...

Beautiful and historic street in the capital of Scotland with its colorful houses, intriguing, mysterious and beautiful in turn was the source of inspiration for Harry Potter's "Diagon Alley" and the filming location of several films.

Grassmarket

Historic market square of the city of Edinburgh, where cattle and goods were brought to sell since the Middle Ages, still today it serves as a market on some occasions. Another more dark fact makes this place famous and they are the "ghosts" that haunt the square at the foot of the imposing castle since it was the place of execution and hanging for guilty prisoners in the Middle Ages. Famous pubs and taverns in the same square, we will tell you the history of some of them ...

St Giles' Cathedral

Or the house of Prebyterianism and its founder John Knox. Spectacular construction originally ordered by King David I of Scotland in the 12th century and mostly from the 14th, 15th and 15th centuries.

Royal Mile

The Royal Mile or the High Street in Edinburgh. An ancient street with buildings mostly from the 16th and 17th centuries onwards and which was one of the first in all of Europe to build houses in height up to 9 floors. Its name is given because it connects the Palace with Edinburgh Castle. We will walk through it most of the day visiting many of the points mentioned.

Scott Monument

Spectacular monument almost 70 meters high dedicated to the Scottish writer that bears his name and that we will see in the main artery of the capital; Princes Street in the New town.

Old Town

Heritage of Humanity, in which we will do practically the entire route of today's historic tour. In the 18th century there were literally no more people in what was previously the city of Edinburgh and no one could spend the night on the street under pain of death. From here the construction of the New Town began .....

New Town

Like the Old Town or the old city this other half of the historic capital of Scotland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built with a mostly Georgian design and spectacular buildings and gardens in the 18th and 19th centuries. We will know some of its most important points.

Mysterious Tour through some of the chambers of the underground city of Edinburgh. Built in the eighteenth century in principle as chambers to store the merchandise of merchants and places of marketing and leisure. Later the lepers of the city were locked up in it, where they lived and died ...

Bakehouse Close

One of the many alleys on the Royal Mile dedicated to this activity in the Middle Ages and where Jamie's Press was filmed in "Outlander".

The Scottish Parliament

Exterior views of the Scottish Parliament at the foot of the "Throne of Arthur" or "Arthur Seat" mountain.

In the 12th century, the King of Scotland David I ordered the construction of Holyrood Abbey to begin, we can still see its great ruins, from here they continued to build royal buildings and it has been the official home of the Kings and Queens of Scotland and later the United Kingdom to this day. We will take some exterior views as there is no time for more on this long day or you can return in your free time.

Today on our last day of Tour and Vacation you will enjoy a more relaxed day and free time. You will have the whole morning free for your purchases or visits that have remained pending in the impressive and cultural capital of Scotland, one of the cradles of the Enlightenment in Europe and its famous University of the 16th century. The fraternal Christmas atmosphere of this Nordic country is breathed in the air and more today, December 31, Hogmanay holiday from Celtic and Viking origins. You could be a Scottish or Scottish more welcomed as such in its streets, shops and taverns of past centuries ... In 2020 we will not celebrate the wonderful Christmas market or the torchlight procession as well as other typical activities of these dates here but we will get together to enjoy some pleasant moments together, do some alternative activity or depending on whether you have booked the Gala with us and New Year's Eve Dinner or not, we can enjoy a few moments before dinner.
