Garni Temple

Garni temple, which towers over a triangular cape, is the unique survived example of heathen culture in Armenia. It is a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles. King Trdat The First ordered building the temple in the first century AD and dedicated it to the God of Sun. After adopting Christianity in 301, the pagan temple lost its significance and the fortress of Garni became the summer residence of the kings. Nowadays the ruins of the royal palace and the bathroom with a stunning mosaic work can be found near the temple.

The Monastery of Geghard

Geghard monastery is the unsurpassable masterpiece of the 13th century Armenian architecture. Some of the churches of the complex are masterfully hewn in a huge rock. From the outset the complex was called Ayrivank (cave monastery), later it was renamed Geghard (lance) as the lance, used by the roman soldier to sting Jesus Christ's side, had been kept in this monastery for many centuries. Due to its construction, Geghardavank serves the best place for singing spiritual songs. The complex is rich in subtle sculptural embellishments and many striking khachkars (cross-stones). The site is included in UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.

Our guide Hayk explained everything very well and knew the answer to all of our question. The driver was very careful and nice, and overall we learned a lot of amazing new things. Very recomended!!

Amazing experience with Guide Alisa and Driver Hamik. Alisa is a minehouse of information. A linguist by traIning - she knows the ins and outs of Armenian language and history - passionate about sharing her knowledge - I learned more about Armenia and its culture on this one day tour than I could possibly have by reading a whole tome on it . The driver Hamik was also fun and made the trip highly enjoyable . Both of them went out of their way to make my trip pleasant . Highly recommend !

We booked a private day trip to Garni, Geghard, the Stone Symphony, Dilijan, and Lake Sevan. It turned out to be a much-needed and truly relaxing experience, made possible by Hayk, who guided us throughout the day. He shared valuable insights, gave us the freedom to explore each site at our own pace, and even recommended an excellent restaurant where the food was absolutely delicious. Many thanks to Hayk for his outstanding service and hospitality.

We just came back from an amazing private day tour with Hyur Tours. As a private tour they did the tour according our wishes! Many thanks for that! The tour started on point at 7:30 am as we where picked up at our holiday appartment. Meline (tour guide) and Karen (Driver) where beyond amazing! They did everything and beyond and gave us all the time for photos as well as all historical information and information about the country, the people, etc. We couldn't ask for any better guide or driver! Once again many thanks to Meline and Karen for that great day, that you made even more special! I really hope to make the next tour again with you both! The places we visit today were: Khor Virap with view of Ararat (alone in the morning). Wow! Azat Reservoir - What a scenery! You should not miss that! Geghard Monastery - The highlight upon the many highlights Symphony of Stones - Again just wow! A great walk along the stone formations! Garni Temple - Well preserved temple Lake Sevan - Great view Sevanawank Monastary - Even greater view Dilijan Old Town - Nice small city with different flavor. To sum it up: If you are thinking about doing a tour: Choose Hyur and ask for Meline and Karen!

We had an amazing private tour and are super happy, that we have choosen Hyur tours. The service was excellent and they tailored us exactly the tour we wished for. So many thanks to Astghik from the office. Beside that, we were really happy for that easy booking via their website, so we could organize and pay everthing from home. Our driver Karen and our tour guide Meline were so friendly, flexibel and entertaining, that we promply ask the office, if we could have exactly this team for our next tour. Karen and Meline gave us all the time we needed, realized very quickly in what we are more interested and even put one more spot on the route, as we were good in time. We visited Khor Virap with view of Ararat, Azat Reservoir, Geghard Monastery, Symphony of Stones, Garni Temple Lake Sevan, Sevanawank Monastary & Dilijan Old Town. It was a big tour, but if you are only 2 persons, it's doable. It was a great day trip for us, we learned a lot and feel happy. Thanks to you guys :-)
