  Not what I expected for a tour. The Mayan temple was awesome. The rest of the experience was not what I would expect for a paid tour. Constant attempts to up-sell for things we didn't want. Clearly an agreement with local vendors to drive in tourist business. Not a bad experience, just not the typical guided tour experience.

  Jose is an incredible guide who offers convenience, breadth of knowledge, and an impeccable sense of humor. My tour to Altún Ha was both enlightening and insightful. I’m incredibly grateful to Jose for providing such a safe, efficient, and warm owner and guide. He’s the best.

  Recently booked this tour for me and my 2 daughters, and Jose went miles upon miles out of his way to make sure we had a good experience. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, history and wildlife. We laughed, joked and got to see monkeys and other wildlife. He made our experience absolutely unforgettable!!   Long ride...but the temples were wonderful to explore. Jose is a lot of fun! The lunch was in a hole in the wall...but really good and authentic.

  We were picked up just outside the Tourism village by Edwin. He drove us in a well air-conditioned vehicle to Altun Ha mayan ruins and took the time to explain the ruins and also the Belize vegetation. We were also treated to an native Belize meal. After lunch, Edwin took us to see some of the sites in the city that we had requested to see as well as to a couple places for photos.

  Jose is an EXCELLENT guide!! He’s personable, kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable as well as entertaining. Our day included the Altun Ha ruins & a Belize City tour as well as a delicious lunch - a great introduction to Belize!! We feel so fortunate to have chosen this experience as a start to our trip. We HIGHLY recommend this tour!

  OK. Limited information provided about the area or what we were seeing that we couldn't read on signs for ourselves. Guide used language that I think was supposed to be "friendly" but actually made me a bit uncomfortable at times. Keep looking around for other options for your travel plans before booking.

  Jose was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing Altun Ha and the surrounding area. Our lunch at the Roadhouse Diner although simple, was delicious. In car beverages were a treat.

  Jose was an awesome guide—super knowledgeable and really well-connected with the locals. He went above and beyond in communication - keeping in touch well before the trip started, so everything felt well-organized. He is super friendly and willing to help, which I truly appreciate! Belize is so different from other places I’ve visited, so having a local guide like Jose made all the difference when navigating unexpected situations. It's definitely worth it and I'm so glad I made this decision! The trip itself was a great experience! Belize City has a unique vibe and culture worth checking out, and Altun Ha was super cool—well-maintained and fun to explore. Plus, Jose took some great photos for me, which was a nice bonus! There was one slightly awkward moment when he asked if I had a boyfriend. It’s a personal question in my culture, but I think he meant it in a friendly way, as that’s probably normal locally. Other than that, Jose was professional and made the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. Belize in general is a bit more challenging compared to other places I’ve been—things like infrastructure aren’t perfect, prices are higher, and communicating with locals can be tricky at times. This tour was more expensive than similar ones I’ve done in the region, but that seems to be the norm here. Even with those challenges, Jose made the trip so much easier and more enjoyable.
