Beirut has been continuously inhabited for over 5,000 years — and this private historical tour is designed for travelers who want to understand why. At its heart is a 90-minute guided visit to the National Museum of Beirut — one of the finest archaeological museums in the Middle East, housing Phoenician sarcophagi, Roman mosaics, Bronze Age artefacts, and prehistoric finds spanning 1.5 million years of Lebanese history. It is the essential context for everything else you will see in the city.
From the museum the tour moves through Beirut's most historically charged landmarks — a seafront shaped by Phoenician traders, a downtown rebuilt from Civil War rubble, a square where revolutions began, mosques and cathedrals sharing the same skyline, and Roman baths buried beneath a modern city that has been destroyed and rebuilt so many times that even its ruins have ruins. For history lovers, archaeology enthusiasts, and cultural travelers — this is Beirut at its most profound.

Beirut
9:00 AM — Hotel pickup, Beirut Your private guide and driver collect you from your Beirut hotel. The first stop is Pigeon Rocks — just minutes away on the seafront.
Pigeon Rocks in Raouche
Begin at Beirut's most iconic natural landmark — two towering limestone formations rising from the Mediterranean off the Raouche coast. Beyond the famous silhouette, your guide explains the Phoenician trading history of this coastline — the same waters that launched the ships that founded Carthage, traded with Egypt, and gave the world the colour purple that made Phoenicia famous.

Hassane was amazing. Super friendly and knowledgeable as well as very reasonably priced. Lebanon is too beautiful for everyone not to see at least once! There is so much to do and having a great tour guide such as Hassane was the perfect way to introduce myself to Beirut.

We had a fantastic half-day tour of Beirut with our guide, Hassane. From the start, his communication was excellent, and he arrived right on time to pick us up. We explored key parts of the city including the bustling souks, impressive Roman historical sites, and the stunning Pigeon Rock. Hassane was incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture, spoke excellent English, and was warm and friendly throughout the tour. It was the perfect introduction to Beirut, and we left with a much deeper appreciation for the city. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful time doing this trip in Beirut. It gives great insight into the history of Beirut, and you also see lots of parts of the city (great for giving you some ideas for areas that you may want to explore further in your trip). It's a great way to see all the landmarks in one day, such as the Museum, Pigeon Rocks, Martyr's Square, Beirut Souks and lots more. You will spend lots of time walking (so bring some good shoes), but it really is the only way to get an in depth look at Beirut and it's different Districts. My guide and Driver were both funny, welcoming, informative and spoke perfect English. You will also get tips on where to change currency, where the best restaurants and bars are and so much more. I did this trip on my first day in the city and I would recommend anybody else to do the same, as it's a half day trip too and its not too exhausting.

The Beirut historical tour was a fantastic experience. At the end of the day, I really felt I had a very good overview and had seen all the important sites of the city. Pierre, who guided the tour, did a tremendous job and is truly an excellent ambassador for his beautiful country, very friendly, courteous, open-minded and pleasant to talk to. Next to this he is very knowledgeable and shares a lot of information which made the tour a most enriching and valuable experience. I can most warmly recommend the tour to anybody.

We did a last minute private tour with them. Appreciate the last minute flexibility. Driver was suuuper careful and lovely. Very flexible with itinerary. Bummer they charged us too much (10USD per person) and could improve a bit the detailed communication (like payment with card is available but not without stop at the office). overall good though.
