We will guide you through the world of Belgian chocolate: why it’s world-renowned, who the master chocolatiers are, and how it’s made. You’ll sample a variety of chocolates and cacao products, uncovering the incredible diversity of Belgian artisanal creations. This experience offers a mix of carefully selected chocolate themes, such as the chocolate-making process, food pairing, sustainability, history, or trends. We’ll also do our best to weave your personal interests and questions into the tasting, creating a truly engaging and interactive experience.

What To Expect
- A fully private and personal experience: One of the two founders of the Chocolade Ambassade personally leads the tasting, fully committed to your group. - Different chocolate makers in one place: With so many chocolate shops in Belgium, it can be difficult & time-consuming to find the right quality. During this tasting you will try chocolate of different top chocolatiers, from all over Belgium: an easy way to discover which style of chocolate fits you best. - 3 activities in one As you will learn a ton of facts about Belgian chocolate & cacao, this tasting is the perfect alternative (or addition) to visiting a chocolate museum. Afterwards, there is also an opportunity to do some chocolate shopping if you wish to do so. - In the heart of Ghent: The Chocolade Ambassade is located in the historic centre of Ghent, around the corner of the Gravensteen castle & a 5-min walk from Graslei & Korenlei. This means the tasting can be easily combined with a day of sightseeing.

5.00This experience was amazing! If you are someone who treats dining as a hobby, the private chocolate experience is a must. We are so glad we went with this more intimate, more thoughtful chocolate tasting over the other options for chocolate tours in Ghent. Dorien is incredibly kind and clearly cares about the nuances of chocolate. We were so impressed by her knowledge and had multiple fantastic chocolates paired with interesting, delicious ingredients. We loved that Dorien gave us an opportunity to personalize our experience to our tastes before we arrived. We feel like we got to experience something truly unique with multiple niche tastings (such as cacao tea and fruit). This experience was our top highlight of our stay in Ghent, could not recommend it more. :)

5.00I would recommend this experience just for the unique cacao drinks alone. I didn't know anything about cacao but it was fascinating to taste the fruit, brew, and the tea. You basically get to try every step in the chocolate-making process, plus some unique chocolate pairings at the end.

5.00I booked this experience because I am a big lover of chocolate. My husband, on the other hand, was a bit hesitant at first considering our time in Ghent was limited. But now he can't stop talking about how great the whole experience was! He especially liked the homemade chocolate liqueur, he keeps raving about it. All in all, well worth the money and the time! :)

5.00From start to finish really a top experience! These two hours have really flown by. We still enjoy all that goodness we tasted. For Belgium, this is truly unique, an unexpected gem. We have learned so much too! The cocoa fruit and bean-to-bar chocolate were really an eye-opener for us.

We have some friends coming over to Belgium in the summer and we already recommended them to drop by your place. If they have enough time, they'll also do the tasting. 5.00It was my sister’s 50th birthday and as she is a massive foodie, I had booked a whole day of food-related experiences. For lunch and dinner, we went to two different Michelin restaurants, and I had also reserved a spot at a beautiful hotel cocktail bar with a view. Needless to say, the whole day was amazing, but this experience was definitely the biggest highligt. As this is a private tasting, you expect a personal service, but this surpassed all our expectations. Before the tasting, you get to indicate your preferences. Like what you're most interested in and which flavours you prefer. I picked food pairing and indicated that we specifically wanted to learn more about pairing chocolate with non-alcoholic drinks. I honestly didn’t expect too much from the personalization, maybe just some tips & tricks. However, Dorien went above and beyond to personalize the experience. We tried an incredible drink with cocoa fruit and had a very special Chinese tea & chocolate pairing. All the other chocolates were incredible as well! (So much so that we tried to move our dinner reservation one hour later.) Dorien answered all our questions with a lot of passion and enthusiasm, and she adapted the tasting to our interests on the spot, which shows an incredible amount of know-how and professionalism. Even though the tasting room is definitely nothing fancy, I would say the whole experience, especially the service, is at Michelin level.

We learned a lot about the origin of chocolate, the history and the whole process from the fruit of the tree till the pieces chocolates and pralines you served us. You gave us the opportunity to taste chocolate in various forms and various tastes while making our own chocolatebars. We all enjoyed it very much and thank you kindly for your hospitality. We certainly recommend chocolate lovers to visit your chocolate embassy in Ghent. You really offer a special experience!

5.00This was a highlight of our time in Ghent. Chocolade Ambassade is run by a lovely young couple who are serious about high quality chocolate and sharing their knowledge with others. We enjoyed a wide assortment of chocolate and chocolate-based products, including things that are made with the byproducts of the chocolate making process. We learned so much!
