5.00I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Plovdiv and grateful that Adi still offered it to us when only two of us showed up! Adi was extremely knowledgeable, good-natured and full of anecdotes and historical facts about the city of Plovdiv. Her love for the city really came through, and inspired me to explore more of Plovdiv after the tour. I also really appreciated the booklets she gave us with recommendations for where to eat, drink and what to see in Plovdiv - this helped me narrow down my itinerary for the rest of my stay.

5.00We made the tour in English with Adi and for 2 hours we circulated through the most iconic places of the city, always accompanied by its historical context. In the end, we still had right to recommended restaurants/locations tips.
Before exploring Plovdiv, do this!

5.00We had Adi as our amazing tourguide. She was funny, energetic and really interacted with us as an audience. She also was very patience, even with hackling crowd members who tried to correct her or take over. The 2,5 hours we walked flew by! It was amazing, really historical and even though you climb a whole hill, because you do it at an amazing relaxed pace, you're on top of it at no time. The admission is free, but they do take tips (which I highly recommend since they do this all for free).

With warmth, intelligence and humor, Niki brought Plovdiv’s fascinating history to life and also opened the doors to enjoying the Plovdiv of today. The tour was excellent and Niki made it so.

5.00The Plovdiv Socialist Architecture tour with Adi was outstanding. As a guide, Adi is very knowledgeable amd approachable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Plovdiv to help in understanding the recent history of the city. The tour is not on every day so jump at the chance to join this tour if you have it. It was the highlight of our trip to Bulgaria. After the tour Adi also helped me to book online tickets for a bus trip to Sofia and I took the Free Sofia Walking Tour the following day ! Everything we learned from Adi was beneficial when in Sofia.

5.00A great experience - highly recommended for your first day in Plovdiv. A really informative tour that combines both showing you around the sites of Plovdiv to get your bearings and a great insight into the rich culture of Plovdiv and Bulgaria and the long history of Byzantine, Ottoman and then Soviet occupation before finally emerging into freedom in the 1990s. Adi, our guid, was super-helpful and fun to explore the city with. And also provided some really good recommendations for things to see and do afterwards. She's even interviewed in the current Lonely Planet. Note that despite being a "free" tour, there is an expectation of a (voluntary) payment afterwards to fund staff and running costs - with EUR 10 per person being the typical norm but you're free to go up or down from there (or not pay at all). Still it's very well worth it. I'd strongly recommend doing this tour on your FIRST proper day in Plovdiv - you'd lose some of the value of it if you've already been here a few days and explored much of it.

5.00Fabulous tour, interesting, fun and s great into into the many sights and the history of Plovdiv. Our guide Niki was very knowledgeable and lovely. The two hours went by so quickly. A recommendation for all visitors.
