Stephanie is one of a kind. I’m very glad I spent the five hours I did with her. I could never have captured it all on my own in the same time frame. I contacted Stephanie at night on the 29th of May in need of a guide to take me to the photography hot spots. She responded in less than an hour. The next morning of the 30th the weather was better than expected and she was ready to go. She came to my hotel lobby and boom we were on our way. Stephanie is totally high energy. She is fit and will take you where you need to go. Her 19 years of living in Hong Kong is a plus. Her English is perfect and understandable. She’s no nonsense and is there to deliver. She does. I was more than satisfied at what we did and saw. It was a 34-36 degree centigrade day and the humidity was brutal. Nothing stops her. She navigated me through the metro system and right to the best spots to take instagram type photos. In short, she’s my go to person on Hong Kong and she charges fairly for her time and expertise. Still unconvinced? Here’s what we covered in 5 hours: here is the list of the places we visited together: - the West Kowloon Station and its very unique architecture. We went on its roof to enjoy a breathtaking view over the harbour. - the Xiqu Center - the Cantonese opera which design is inspired but stage curtains - the golden China Hong Kong City, a very photogenic building - the Dolphin Square and the Ocean Terminal for more views over the harbour - the Garden Hill view point in Sham Shui Po, a brutal but rewarding climb in a very authentic district - Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden, a truly incredible site in the middle of Kowloon - Choi Hung estate, the rainbow building - Ping Shek square colourful estates - the Monster building Great pics of every place we visited. Need I say more? Thank you Stephanie.

We spent an exceptional day in Shenzhen, departing from Hong Kong, with Stephanie. We left in the morning by high speed train and returned around 8pm by metro, after a particularly rich day. We had chosen to focus the visit on new technologies , and Stephanie met our expectations perfectly, and perceived very well what would please us. We were able to climb to the top of the 5th tallest building in the world, discover manufacturers of cars, phones and drones of the latest generation, witness a delivery by drone, take a taxi without driver (!), and browse the famous electronics market. A show of robot dancers impressed us particularly. A fascinating immersion in a city at the forefront of innovation. The day was dense, rhythmic and very well organized. Stephanie has shared her knowledge of both Shenzhen and Hong Kong history, always attentive to our needs. She anticipated each step, offered many good plans and did not count her time. We were travelling with two teenagers aged 16 and 17, and everyone was won over. In summary, a remarkable experience that we highly recommend. Many thanks to Stephanie for an exciting day, perfectly conducted from start to finish.

We booked the tour for us and our friends who have 8 and 11 year old daughters. We did one day touring Hong Kong and one in Shenzhen. It was great to learn about Hong Kong history. What we say in Shenzhen, drone deliveries and a robot dance and riding in a driverless car was mind blowing. Thank you, Alexandra and Stephanie!

We spent 1.5 days with Stephanie from HK a la carte exploring Kowloon and the New Territories, and it was a very rewarding experience. What we appreciated most was the depth of context she provided. The visits to Wong Tai Sin Temple, Chi Lin Nunnery and Nan Lian Garden were not just sightseeing stops — Stephanie explained the religious background, architectural principles, and cultural significance in a clear and structured way. This made the experience much more meaningful. The cycling day in the New Territories was a particular highlight. Crossing the small ferry at Nam Sang Wai and exploring the Tang Clan heritage sites in Kam Tin and Ping Shan gave us valuable insight into rural history, clan structures, and everyday life beyond the urban skyline. The balance between movement, historical sites, and conversation was very well managed. Stephanie is knowledgeable, well organized, and thoughtful in her explanations. The exchange was both professional and personal, which we appreciated very much. If you are interested in understanding Hong Kong beyond the obvious landmarks, we can highly recommend HK a la Card as private guide.

A superb team of passionate Hong Kongers who are able to share what they know well and love perfectly: knowledge, anecdotes and fun. Thanks to them, we took the subway, the Star Ferry, the funicular to the Peak and the cable car to the Big Buddha. And we had an unforgettable experience going to Shenzen with its driverless taxis, its drone deliveries. It was a magical day. Our attendants were TOP, professional and extremely pleasant. Thank you very much. I highly recommend them
