Great experience with Janika! He was very flexible on the tour and was happy to alter the destinations and timing for our needs. He picked us up at our hotel, helped us find breakfast, took us to Sigiriya, and then to Pidurangala Rock Hike (which was a lot of hiking in one day) and then was very accommodating when we decided to opt out of the temple. Thanks for answering all of our questions and a great day!

Wow what an incredible day! Janaka and his colleague promptly picked us up at 7.30am for a brilliant start to our epic day. Along the way to Dambulla, we mentioned wanting a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and Janaka instantly knew where to take us. A very authentic local spot for the most amazing Sri Lankan dishes and cinnamon tea. We were in food heaven. And Janaka treated us to this breakfast and wouldn’t take any money for it! Dambulla was wonderful, not too busy. It was a steep climb - make sure you cover your knees and ladies your shoulders. You can buy covers there for 1000 rupees. Shoes off in the cubby (that’s another 1000 rupees). Inside Janaka gave us a very detailed and insightful tour of the temples and Buddha history. Spotting monkeys on the way down, we then went to Sigiriya and climbed up to the top. You can pay by card there. Stunning views at the top, absolutely captivating. Then on the way to Minneriya national park, Janaka treated us to fresh coconut water from a stall. Just what we needed. He introduced us to his jeep driver friend who took us on the most spectacular journey into the national park to see the elephants! Our driver was brilliant! He would bypass the other jeeps to save time and always found us the best and most quiet spots. We were so close to the elephants it was unbelievable. I’m still in shock. Overall it was a long day but so incredibly special and beautiful. This tour was perfect and Janaka and his colleague looked after us well. Highly recommend this private tour.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Above and Beyond — The Best Guide & Driver We Could Have Asked For We had an absolutely unforgettable day in Sri Lanka, and it was entirely because of our incredible guide and driver, Basura at Senevirathne from One World Travel. We are visiting from the United States, and this was a private tour from Kandy, and from start to finish the experience was seamless, comfortable, and exceptionally well organized. Very important our CV guide spoke great English Our day began at the Dambulla Cave Temple, where Basura shared the history and meaning behind the temples, artwork, and Buddha statues in a way that was easy to understand and truly engaging. He knows how to explain things clearly without overwhelming you, which made the visit even more meaningful. Next, we visited Sigiriya Rock, which was a bucket-list experience. Basura prepared us perfectly for the climb, shared the history ahead of time, and paced the day thoughtfully so we never felt rushed. He also helped us with photos and made sure we had time to enjoy the views and the experience itself. After that, he took us to a great local lunch spot, followed by an incredible elephant safari. Seeing elephants in their natural environment was unforgettable, and Basura coordinated everything beautifully so we had the best possible experience and views. What truly set Basura apart was how much he went above and beyond. After a long day, before dropping us off, he noticed we were tired and made sure we were taken care of by helping us get dinner takeaway so we didn’t have to worry about anything once we arrived back at our hotel. That level of thoughtfulness and care is rare. Basura is a calm, professional, and excellent driver, and the vehicle was very clean and comfortable the entire day. More than that, he is warm, attentive, flexible, and genuinely cares about his guests. We felt safe, respected, and truly looked after — it felt less like a tour and more like traveling with someone who wanted us to have the very best experience possible. If you are considering a private tour in Sri Lanka, especially from Kandy, request Basura at One World Travel. This was not just a tour — it was a beautifully curated, memorable experience that we will always remember. Highly recommend without hesitation.

We were picked up outside our hotel at 8am. Pick-up time and further details were provided to us in advance via WhatsApp. The driver responded to all our wishes. Thanks to Tharuka. We did not climb Lion Rock in Sigiriya but Pidurangala Rock, which offers spectacular views of Lion Rock. Also, the length of the safari in Minneriya National Park could be freely chosen. We decided to stay for 90 minutes, which turned into 2 hours as we saw a lot of elephants and the driver gave us all time to take photos. In the end the entire tour with the return trip to Kandy took 12 hours, which passed very quickly because Tharuka made our day as pleasant as possible and even provided us with fresh fruit and sweets. We would definitely book the tour again.

We had a great time! Janaka was not only an excellent chauffeur but also a really wonderful tour guide. Super knowledgeable and informative. Not just about the stops on our tour, but Sri Lankan history in general. He came with us to Dambulla and Sigiriya and acted as a full tour guide! We were not expecting that so it was a pleasant surprise. He is super friendly and personable as well. The Dambulla Cave Temple was really impressive. Janaka walked us through the entire history of the Buddha that is painted on the ceiling. It was really amazing! Sigiriya Rock was quite the hike but absolutely worth it. It was fascinating to see what is left of the fortress and learn the history. Stopped at a local buffet for lunch in between. Very tasty! We were heading down to Bentota after our tour so we only went to Dambulla and Sigiriya, no additional stops to save time. But we coordinated with One World Tour for Janaka to drive us all the way there too! Saved us a couple hours so that was fantastic!

We had an amazing day out with Janaka, doing the Dambulla Caves Temple, Sirigya fortress and safari. Excellent value for money and saw some incredible wildlife. Thoroughly recommended if you have a free day in Kandy!

Janaka was incredible!! He was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with! Janaka was super knowledgeable when taking us through the temples, patient and supportive as we climbed Sigiriya Lion Rock, and he extended the trip to include the elephant safari!! We even got to sneak in a delicious lunch at a local place. A long day packed full of exciting attractions, Janaka was great company, a good photographer with hilarious conversation. Thank you for making our day so perfect! Would definitely book again without hesitation.
