An Unforgettable Private Sailing Experience, Just for You. And remember, This is a private sailing adventure. We will customize the day of your dreams! There is no end to what you can see while sailing with Virgin Islands Day Sailing. Join us as we explore the most breathtaking locations around the Virgin Islands. Create timeless memories as you experience spectacular sailing destinations with those you love. Full day excursions depart from our slip in Sapphire Beach Marina, St. Thomas at 9:00 am. After a quick safety briefing, we cast the lines and head out.. Enjoy the sights and our open bar as we sail. Our destination will be the St. John National Park and the picturesque surrounding cays. You will have the chance to discover why many say that St John offers some of the best snorkeling and swimming locations in the Virgin Islands. We usually try to hit two different locations with a fresh grilled lunch served between stops. . Full day excursion will return to the marina around 3:30 pm. For special occasions please reach out for custom options.

5.00Booked a private charter for just my bride and myself. We were on a 38’ Beneteau piloted by Captain Darren. Darren provided great history on the islands and made us feel welcome and safe. We visited two snorkeling spots and were able to see a couple unique critters. We were fortunate to see a Spotted Eagle Ray on our first stop and a Slipper Lobster on our second stop. We would recommend booking this trip to get a well rounded experience in one day and make sure you request the muppets greatest hits playlist if Capt Darren is your Captain

5.00We can’t say enough good about this incredible activity! We were recommended by another charter who filled up, and so glad we were! It was an amazing private sail for not much more than the cost of the “big group” charters with people packed on board. We are a family of six ranging from tweens to grandparents. We’ve done multiple snorkeling and water trips before, but this was the best. First of all, our captain, Darren, grew up in the Virgin Islands and it’s obvious that he really knows the area. He’s been sailing and boating his whole life around the world, including sailing competitions and sailing from Central America all the way to New Zealand! so we felt very secure with him and loved his colorful stories. He took us snorkeling to a couple wonderful sites modifying the itinerary as we went according to prevailing conditions. There was a stiff wind, but we were actually very comfortable in his 38 foot boat. He found nice quiet coves where we could do our snorkeling. Don’t worry, if he feels like the weather is too choppy, he will cancel and give your money back. He made a wonderful lunch for us with grilled chicken, pasta, salad, and drinks. The boat is beautiful and we mostly enjoyed just being under sale out on the ocean in the Virgin Islands with good shade. A trip of a lifetime! I can’t recommend it highly enough. The only note I would make is that we came in on a Disney Cruise so we had to catch a taxi 30 minutes one way to Sapphire Beach Marina, where we picked up his charter. We will definitely repeat this trip if we ever make it back to St. Thomas. Thanks so much for a great day on the water!

5.00Highlight of trip to St Thomas. With a maximum of 6 passengers, it is very comfortable sitting in the cockpit. Much better than an overcrowded catamaran. The sailboat has a low stern (back end) so its very easy getting into/out of the water. The captain is very accommodating regarding course of sail and location/duration at stops and gave us lots of information on the islands. A small grill mounted on the stern railing produced a very nice grilled chicken lunch. We saw a stingray and turtles on our stops along with plenty of fish. A wonderful, relaxing, fun filled day.

5.00A wonderful experience. The boat was very well maintained and comfortable. Once out of the Harbor, Captain Kendall's objective was to sail 100% of the time (no motor), and take us where we would snorkel/swim away from any crowd. He delivered. I emphasize the rarity of both, as many of the larger snorkeling/cruises (booze cruise - which can be fun) were not actually sailing (running a diesel motor) and high tourist density can mean that popular reefs are crowded. If you actually want to sail and snorkel, this small group experience with an excellent caption is well worth paying a few extra pennies for. Captain Kendall is a great sailor, knowledgeable storyteller, relaxed and very friendly. He lives the life he shared with us; Priceless. I would guess the other Captains are great too, but it wouldn't hurt to ask when he sails.

5.00Great trip. Our captain, Addison, was born in Saint Thomas and knows the waters and the lore of the USVI. He took us to three great snorkeling spots and provided plenty of food and drinks. The boat was comfortable for all.

5.00My wife and I took a private sailing and snorkeling trip with Captain Kendall. The Captain is a very experienced and knowledgeable islander and took us to some spots on St Johns and Little St James that we had not visited previously. We are experienced snorkelers and the locations were somewhat remote and full of diverse sea life. We saw many large schools of colorful fish as well as rays, turtles, eagle rays and even a black tip reef shark! Kendall also made us a delicious lunch and served us excellent beverages. During the course of our trip, the Captain shared his deep and insightful knowledge of island geography and history. We definitely plan on booking another trip with Captain Kendall and Virgin Island Day Sailing!

5.00Excellent day on the boat with Kendall. We sailed (not motored) to two different snorkeling spots where we saw 6+ sea turtles and lots of other fish. Kendall made us a great lunch and drinks, told plenty of stories, and made the day very enjoyable for our family of four (ages 21-60).

5.00Amazing experience—highly recommend! Despite starting in rain, the day turned beautiful, and the sailing was fantastic. Kendall was a terrific captain and host, full of knowledge about the islands. It was just my husband and me in St. Thomas, and we met four wonderful people on board.
