Private Tours are designed to allow you to discover the D-Day sites in optimal conditions. Each circuit is indeed preceded by a "briefing" which will allow us first of all to get to know each other, then to contextualize the events of June 6, 1944. This moment may also be an opportunity for you to express specific requests. For example linked to the story of a member of your family who fought in Normandy.
The "small group" format also allows you to adapt the pace of the visit to your own needs and desires.
If the price of admission to the museums ("Airborne Museum" in Sainte Mère Eglise, "Utah beach Museum" on Utah beach, "D-Day Experience" near Carentan) is not included in the price, the circuits are however designed to allow you to take advantage of this opportunity and devote about an hour to visiting one of these (you will also benefit from the reduced rate granted to Memory Tracks).

Sainte-Mere-Eglise
Our first stop will be the village of Sainte-Mère-Eglise, which has become the symbol par excellence of the American airborne operation. On site, we will begin with a briefing over a coffee or tea in order to review the events that took place there the night of June 5 to 6, 1944. We will then take the time to discover the heart of the village: the Church, the central square, the German command post, the Hospice (which was used by the paratroopers as an infirmary)...
La Fiere Bridge and Iron Mike Monument
After Sainte-Mère-Eglise we will take the road west to reach the hamlet and the La Fière bridge, one of the main objectives of the 82nd Airborne. From June 6 to 9, this place was marked by very violent combat between American paratroopers and elements of the German 91st Infantry Division, determined to keep control of this crossing point on the Merderet.

This was the second experience with Memory Tracks. We enjoyed two days with Franck touring both the Omaha /Utah Beach landings and the Airborne sites. Let me tell you that we love Franck. He doesn't drive around giving a cookie cutter regurgitation of history instead he tailors the event to your wishes and brings alive the events and people , placing you precisely in their spot with a rich and immersive experience. We will be back a third time because this trip I learned more than the last time. Cheers Franck. We will see you soon

We were sent to Memory-Tracks by a family member that had an outstanding experience with our guide, Franck. From our initial outreach via email through the tour selection process, he was always positive, informative and helpful. We selected the 82nd & 101st, Utah Beach tour due to familiarity with the Dick Winters, Band of Brothers history. We were looking to overlay sites from the books and HBO Show with the actual sites. We were blown away with the level of knowledge and passion that Franck had for the history of D-Day and beyond. Being a local, he was able to share his feelings and thoughts on the impact that the allied invasion had on Caen and the surrounding areas. We spent the whole day with Franck, and DID take advantage of the Airborne Museum in Sainte-Mère-Église. It's one of the top 10 military museums worldwide and definitely worth 90 to 120 minutes. We saw many larger tours going on (from full vans to inter-city busses) and found the intimate, thoughtful and personal experience provided was so, so special. While I was familiar with the history, my wife was no, and Franck was able to hold interesting and meaningful discussions of the topics with both of us. We plan to come back to France to visit the eastern wine areas and have already committed to drive back to experience the Omaha Beach experience. This was one of the true highlights of our 3-week trip, thanks to Franck.

Franck, our tour guide, gave us detailed, sequenced information and stories to the D Day battles at Omaha and Utah Beach. It was so detailed that it brought alive the events of that day.

This is my second tour with Memory Tracks. Franck exceeded my expectations on this second tour of Utah beach and the surrounding areas. His knowledge of what took place before, during, and after D-Day is remarkable. Franck even added an extra trip to St Lo and went out of his way to drop us off in Ouistreham. He made sure we could enter our Airbnb. Thank you. I highly recommend Memory Tracks. Jennifer

Franck was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history. He gave us numerous insights. I don’t think we could’ve had a better guide or a better experience would very highly recommend booking with him.

We had the best day with Franck! I’m a former US Army Paratrooper and have always wanted to see where my paratrooper granddads did the amazing things they did. I learned so much, Franck was enjoyable and very knowledgeable about the battles and locations. It was amazing to see where the LGOPs did their best. We enjoyed the day and even invited him to lunch with us. Go with Franck for this tour you won’t be disappointed.

The D-Day tour with Franck was the highlight of our trip to France! I have been passionately learning about D-Day and WW2 my whole life and the opportunity to come to Normandy with my Mom and sister was a dream come true. We knew we wanted to start our week staying at the beaches with a private tour. Luckily, after lots of searching I found Franck’s company Memory Tracks. We booked a private 82nd and 101st Airborne tour. Franck was very communicative before the booking and picked us up in is very clean and comfortable tour van the morning of the tour. The tour beyond exceeded my expectations which was all due in part to Franck. He was so knowledgeable, kind, and engaged with us the entire tour. He was very good at simplifying the and sights for my mom and sister (who were learning about D-Day for the first time) while also answering more detailed questions from me. The selection of sight he took us to where perfect as the really highlighted personal stories of the people involved and visually still bore reminders of the War. Franck was very in tune with our interests and needs and was very patient and good at giving us options to choose the next stop. We never felt rushed, and felt like the tour was really customized for us. What I also loved about the tour was that it avoided the most popular and basic locations and instead got off the beaten path to see places that had amazing stories and held lots of importance during the invasion. Franck also brought a valuable perspective as someone who has grown up and lived in the Normandy region for his whole life which really added to our experience as he knowledge went far beyond just D-Day. Spending the day with Franck was the highlight of our trip, it really but the rest of our stay in perspective and gave us ideas of how to spend the rest of our time in Normandy. Franck, is amazing at what he does and anyone visiting the area should look no further and do any tour with Memory Tracks.

Superb personal in-depth level of historical overview of Overlord, combined with anecdotal stories that added true passion to the challenges of the War.

Franck is absolutely amazing. This is a tour you MUST do. Franck is so knowledgeable about D Day he gives you a lesson in history to put things in context. The stories he tells you are so captivating and he has pictures from WWII events and then takes you to where those pictures were taken. I can't thank him enough for making this day so special for me and my husband. Just do it!!!

Franck was exceptional. He took us to many of the places that I wanted to see and then then he took us to places that I did not know about but really needed to see to round out the experience. I am a veteran of the 101st Airborne, 67-69, and encourage all 101st veterans to take this tour. Cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed it and how educational it was.
