KILIMANJARO GENERAL
MOUNT KILIMANJARO is a very special mount
It’s the highest singular mountain in the world. That’s means it has the greatest ascent from its base to its summit.
It’s easiest to climb of the seven summit, interestingly the 1950 version of the seven summits also two more Holy Mountains Mt. Blanc and Kosciusko and for us KILIMANJARO IS A HOLY MOUNTAIN

KILIMANJARO does not require any skills but instead a lot of walking, just over 40 miles and an ascent of about 13000 feet, spread over 6 days ascending and an ascent 2 days descending. Do not be put off be believing you are too unfit, too old, too young or too whatever. More that anything KILIMANJARO requires persistence and determination.

What To Expect
Kilimanjaro National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Stone town and transferred to airport then flying to arusha then drive to the Marangu Gate of the National Park (approx. 30-40 min drive). For the day trip you will effectively be doing the first day of the total climb- through the lush rainforest ecosystem. From the Marangu gate, accompanied by your professional mountain guide, you will hike to the Mandara Huts, at an altitude of 2700m. You will stop here for lunch and then take a short walk to view the Maundi crater, from where you can see the view of both the Mawenzi peak and Kibo peak (the summit).

Amazing hiking experience in Kilimanjaro and Safari game drives!!

5.00We booked Meru Slopes & Safaris for both our 7d6n Kilimanjaro hike via Lemosho route and for our 4d3n safari in Tarangeire NP, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti NP. For our Kilimanjaro hike, our guides were Nicodemus and Ibrahim and both were very knowledgeable and experienced and took very good care of us. They were the extra step to find rental hiking gear as one of our friends had lost their luggage in transit and made sure that we were well-equipped. We had about 12 porters including 1 chef and they were all very helpful throughout our hike especially on the summit push. Sufficient rest was provided to us, and as the guides were experienced, they could tell just by looking at the skies how the temperature will be like. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our guide for the safari through Tarangire NP, Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti NP was Julius and he was one of the best guides anyone can ask for. He was such a ball of energy and even though he was our driver and guide, he never once showed that he was tired or sick of seeing the animals and continuously helped us to look out for these. He was so welcoming and friendly and he made us feel so welcomed and at home throughout our safari. We were so upset when our safari trip came to an end with him. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Meru Slopes & Safaris and highly recommend to engage them!
If you only have a day but want to see at least some of Kilimanjaro.

5.00My son and I were in Arusha doing some volunteer work at a school for orphans. We had a Saturday free and I've always wanted to climb Kilimanjaro. Lacking time, we'll have to come back to do the whole climb but our guide, Oscar, got us to the Mandara huts in fine form. It was a fantastic experience!!
