What To Expect
Wells
The tour starts with a private walking tour of the historic centre of Wells, the smallest city in England, famous for its mediaeval streets, magnificent Cathedral, picturesque Bishop's Palace and Marketplace. The city, which can be traced back to Roman times, takes its name from the freshwater springs which continue to well up in the gardens of the moated Bishop’s residence.
Wells Cathedral
This magnificent early English Gothic Style Cathedral has been described as “the most poetic of the English Cathedrals” and it is famous for its scissor arches, clock, stunning chapter house and stained-glass windows. Tickets will be purchased on arrival.

5.00From pickup to drop-off, everything went smoothly. Communication was clear and timing was on point. The jeep ride was fun and safe. Sunrise views were unforgettable. The hot spring was a nice bonus and not rushed at all. Would definitely recommend this if you’re visiting Bali.

5.00Mattias with Galahad Tours gave my husband and I another fantastic tour. This was day 3 of 3 private guided tours from Bath. Matthias took us to Wells and Glastonbury. Both areas were very interesting and beautiful. Our guide made the historical events come to life. It was cool to see where King Arthur and Guinevere were most likely buried. Also, Glastonbury was quite a surprise as being a fun and lively place and completely “new age“. We stopped at ato a nice local place for lunch. It was a fun and interesting day. We truly appreciated our knowledgeable, friendly and professional guy, Matthias. Thank you so much.! I highly recommend his company and services

He offered us options along the way and introduced us to so much more than we imagined including local “not usually on standard” tour experiences and helped me find a unique piece of jewelry from the same stone found in Stonehenge! 5.00We first toured with Matthias a few years ago and we wanted to come back to explore more with him on our recent visit. It was like meeting up with an old friend and we really enjoyed exploring Somerset this time - Glastonbury and Cheddar Gorge and Wells. The weather was perfect and the scenery was as beautiful and varied as M told us. We even got to try some original cheddar cheese and visited a local cider farm on the second day. He always chooses somewhere great to eat lunch and really takes his time to answer all our questions. Thank you, J&G

5.00Galahad tours is exceptional - I cannot say enough. We spend several days with Matthias - he picked us up from the Southampton cruise terminal - we toured Salisbury, the Cotswold's, Highclere Castle, Wells, Glastonbury and returned our group to Heathrow. I'm surprised he wasn't a history major! His knowledge is so expansive - there was never a question he could not answer. Thank you Matt for a wonderful visit.

5.00Had a wonderful time on this private tour with Matthias and cannot recommend this tour enough. I had been to the Cotswolds a few times already so I knew I wanted to see another part of the countryside - and Wells did not disappoint. It was the perfect quintessential small-town, authentic, quaint but majestic city (it is in fact the smallest city in England) and it was amazing to visit on market day. After Wells and a great lunch with Matthias, we ventured to Glastonbury - definitely quite different from Wells. We enjoyed the serenity of the cathedral grounds and ruins but wouldn't say Glastonbury is my vibe per se (cynical NYer here). Either way, it was a fantastic day out seeing both! If you are looking for a private tour guide, book Matthias! He was professional, very conversational and made you feel instantly comfortable in his company - plus a good sense of humor! He definitely helped make my 4th trip to Bath a very memorable one!
