Tarifa
Upon arrival in Tarifa, travelers will have about 30 minutes of free time to walk around the city and have a coffee before boarding for Tangier. Tarifa is one of the most beautiful white towns in Andalusia and at the same time the closest point to Africa from Europe.
Gibraltar
It will be our first stop of the day, Gibraltar is a city that has belonged to the United Kingdom since 1704, famous throughout the world for its strategic location facing Africa, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. We will visit the natural reserve of La Roca or El Peñón, Punta Europa and enjoy its funniest inhabitants, the monkeys.

This trip is a great experience and includes a lot. As a result, you do feel a bit rushed in each location. Not a fault of the tour, it’s just what is needed to fit everything into one day. Everything ran smoothly and the guides were all on time, knowledgeable, and helpful. Miguel picked us up at our hotel for the drive to Gibraltar where we crossed the border and met Max, who took us up the mountain for some great views and hung out with the macaques who were adorable. We spent about an hour in Gibraltar before it was time to go back in the car to Tarifa for the ferry. The ferry was quick and easy. Karim met us at the ferry in Tangier and we proceeded to drive through the city to the camel rides. That was a lot of fun. From there we went to the medina which is full of tiny streets and shops. Most had your typical cheap touristy trinkets. The one nice store we were taken to seemed way overpriced. The lunch was included and was very good and authentic. Overall Tangier was ok, I was hoping for a larger market with more authentic goods and that middle eastern bazaar. Before we knew it, it was time to go back to the ferry for the return trip. It was a 15 hour day from start to finish so be prepared for that. Overall if you just want to see the highlights of the 3 countries and say you were in 3 countries and 2 continents in one day its a great way to do it. My only suggestion is that since it is a private tour there should have been more opportunity to customize the trip. I asked for a detailed itinerary prior and what could be customized and they weren’t too open or helpful with that. I mentioned visiting the synagogues and Jewish section of Tangier and this was never passed on to the Tangier guide.

This was truly an amazing adventure. From the prompt pickup in Malaga by Miguel to the greeting of John in Gibraltar and finally Karim waiting for us of the ferry in Morocco. This truly was a whirlwind day, but truly worth it. If you enjoy history, world culture including delicious food and natural beauty this tour is for you. Highly recommend!

Miguel our driver shared wonderful info as we traveled about the sights and the country. It was great to have someone walk us thru the ferry and border crossing process. Kareem in Tangiers was passionate and knowledgeable about his city and country and the whole tour was a joy. There is so much to see in a short time, but unless you plan to spend a couple days in Tangiers, this is the best way to see it. The vendors were a bit insistent but so charming. Dave in Gibraltar was an awesome guide, having lived in Gibraltar his whole life. I'm glad we did the private tour so time was not lost to a long bus ride with many stops; also we were able to stop along the way whenever we wanted. It was a long day but well worth it.

This has been the highlight of our trip so far! We covered a lot of ground, learned so much and enjoyed the entire experience from start to finish. Communication in planning was great and it was effortless for my husband and I! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to visit Gibraltar and Morocco.
