Here we are travel from Muscat to Nizwa- the Ancient Capital of Oman to get a stunning view from the round tower of 17th Century fort and visit to Nizwa Souk famous traditional silver jewelry antiques and then move forward to Bahla to view the Art of traditional post making. Then proceed to Jabrin Castle, one of the most beautiful forts of Oman which is famous for its unique painting and ancient utensils.

What To Expect
Nizwa Fort Oman
Nizwa Fortress. The fort is a museum today and offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains. You can walk around in this impressive fortress and visit its many rooms, passages, and towers. The fort is an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century. It was a military stronghold designed to withstand even the strongest of attacks at the time. Even along the corridors, many traps were laid to deter any intruders that might have penetrated the defenses.
Birkat Al Mouz Ruins
Birkat Al Mauz Old Village and the Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn at the foot of Jebel Akhdar, with its old Village ruins and Banana and Date plantations, And you can see also the Birkat Views.

This is more than sightseeing, this is about learning the history of Oman and the legacy of the Sultan. 5.00We had a great day trip to Nizwa, with its historic fort and lively traditional souq, and to Jebel Akhdar, famous for its cool mountain air and beautiful terrace views. Our guide Mohammed Aljabri was super friendly and knowledgeable, making the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to see Oman’s culture and stunning mountain scenery in one day.

5.00We had the pleasure of going on this trip with our amazing guide and driver Badar, where we visited Nizwa souq, Nizwa Fortress and Jebel Akhdar. The fortress has spectacular views, and so many rooms to explore. Impressive history, and very well organised. Jebel Akhdar is breathtaking, both the drive and the view! The communication with Star Tour Oman and Badar has been excellent, with fast and informative responses. Badar made us feel very safe and cared for, and he’s a very good driver. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he didn’t rush things. He even took us to a stable where we could enjoy a little bit of horse riding, and this was not part of the itinary. Badar is also very knowledgeable, and we’ve learnt a lot on this trip. I will never forget our great conversations and the many lovely karak stops along the way! We can highly recommend both Badar and Star Tours Oman. Thanks again Badar, and Star Tours Oman!

5.00Khalil Aljabri is an excellent guide! He’s friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. We took this tour, but there was a bike race that day and after visiting Nizwa, he offered an alternative site to visit. So we went to see Jabreen Castle, which was perfect. Our discussions ranged far and wide, from the different types of dates, to Omani life, to the everyday sights around us. This tour offers only two places to see for a full day, but with the right guide you can experience the entire country in that time.
Nizwa a dream (landscape, culture, people). It was an all-round package - all wishes were fulfilled. Thank you Ahmed

5.00This was our second day with jihad and we had booked the jebel shams hike but he had kindly suggested this alternate since it was our first time in Oman. He was absolutely right! We got to experience more culture at Nizwa which was awesome to see and we were able to shop as well! We got to see much more and he took us to an awesome viewpoint where we had a fantastic lunch at and then we went to an abandoned old town as well which was truly a sight to behold. Highly recommend you book this tour, and I hope you get Jihad as your tour guide! He made this experience very fun and provided a lot of insight about what life is like and growing up in Oman. Thank you for sharing your special country with us, Jihad!

5.00It was indeed a wonderful and breathtaking experience! From exploring the nizwa souq, we saw the culture and tradition of Omani people and seeing how nice and friendly they are. We manage also to find somethings to buy to take home with us. Aside from that we saw Nizwa Fort which tackles brief history of the Sultan who built it and how it was built. Then we get to go to Jebel Akdar where the landscapes where breathtaking and I find it amusing the people who managed to live there for long time and knowing the terrain was underwater before was truly astonishing! The height was magnificent and very nice cold weather. Overall our guide Khalid manage to help find the cheap items we need and brought us to the places we went with much comfort and ease. He treated us like his own family. Before I forgot we pass by the Old Village which shows how they build their houses from mud and palm tree leaves and trunk making it stronger when mix with hard rocks that stood the test of time. Even after hundred years still the structure stands strong.

5.00⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing day visiting Nizwa Souq, Nizwa Fort, Jabal Al Akhdhar, and Birkat Al Mouz Old Village with Mr. Khalid AlRaqadi from Star Tours Oman. Mr. Khalid is truly more than a tour guide ! he’s a history book on wheels, a very safe and smooth driver, and most importantly… a great photographer 📸😆 (very important for happy wives!). He even helped bargain for us and managed to get a cheap dishdasha for men 👏. He explained Omani history in a clear, easy, and interesting way, never rushed us, and always made sure we were comfortable throughout the trip. Driving through the mountains felt safe and relaxing, even on winding roads, and he knew all the best photo spots and angles. If you’re looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and genuinely cares about his guests (with bonus bargaining skills!), we highly recommend Mr. Khalid. 🇴🇲✨
