Begin your private 6.5 hour tour with hotel pickup service at the chosen time of departure. Begin with a visit to the Ana Kai Tangata, a cave with paintings on the roof and a name that reflects the cannibalism which took place on the island during the warfare period. See the Rano Kau, a volcano with a panoramic view of the island which plunges 200m (656ft) below to a beautiful lake. See the ceremonial village of Orongo where, during the 18th and 19th centuries, one of the most interesting political ceremonies took place annually as different tribes competed to become the leader of the island. In breathtaking sports event that involved climbing down cliffs, swimming out to some islets off the coast, the islanders came to this beautiful part of the island to see who would be their next king. Additionally, become intrigued with the Vinapu site, where you will see some of the island's beautiful rockwork, reminiscent of that found in the great Inca civilization of South America. Make your way to Puna Pau quarry from which the large scoria (red, cindery, basaltic lava stone) where adornments that were fitted on the heads of many statues were taken. Then discover the Ahu Akivi, a restored site of seven statues. It is said to be the representations of the first seven explorers who came to the island. These seven moai are the only group of statues looking out to the sea. Lunch is not included on this tour, but there will be opportunities to stop and get food along the way if you find yourself hungry. Like many volcanic islands, Easter Island is riddled with lava tubes. Ana Te Pahu is one of the more extensive networks found on the island that you will see. Learn how the ancient Rapa Nui people used these cave networks to live, collect water, plant vegetables and hide from aggressive visitors from the outside in the 18th and 19th centuries. When the tour is complete, you will be dropped back at your hotel.

Our full day tour of historical sights in Rapa Nui with our guide, Patricio, was awe-inspiring and educational. He gave every effort to share the history behind this rich and beautiful place, including significance of major landmarks as well as many cultural nuances. Highest recommendation I can give!!

We did several tours with Green Island Tours in June 2025 on a family vacation to a place that we have wanted to visit for some time. Green Island Tours was a wonderful option from form planning and scheduling to execution. Not being a Spanish or Rapa Nui speaker it was important to us to have proficient English speaking guides, to ensure that we learned as much as possible. Everything was planned in advance but Green Island was flexible enough to accommodate last minute changes. Paulina was fantastic in terms of efficient communication and helping to piece together the tours to ensure that everyone in my family would be able to enjoy the level of activity. We had Marc, Yoyo and Heki'i as our guides - they were all great with slightly different styles. As a Kiwi it was interesting to hear Marc's experiences as someone who has made the island home for over a decade. Heki'i is in his early 20s, and Yoyo a charming statesman -- all taught us different things and we are very grateful to have had the variety of perspectives as it added to our overall experience. If we ever make it back to Rapa Nui we would gladly book with them again.

We did four tours with Green Island tours and each experience was wonderful. Our guide for each adventure was Yoyo. A local who has lots of knowledge and experience and a guide who doesn’t talk incessantly- a true bonus. Three of our tours were small group trips and the Hidden Rapa Nui was a private trip. We walked about 5 miles on each of the trips so wear appropriate shoes. We also got to swim in our own private tide pool on the Hidden trip - amazing. Thank you Green Island Tours and Yoyo.

We joined 2 half day and 1 full day private tour with guide Yoyo. Yoyo is an excellent guide. We can see his love of the planet and Easter Island. He explained a lot about the island and help us to take many photos. During the sunrise tour, Yoyo prepared chairs, tea and snacks for us. And take us to an awesome place for beautiful sunrise photos.

My wife and I came to Easter Island on vacation and to celebrate our anniversary by seeing this remote island with their wondrous Moai statues carved by the ancient Rapa Nui but we were blessed to receive the fantastic experience that can only be provided by exceptional human interaction. Marc served as our guide and, not only was he a fount of information, but also a personable, grounded individual with a tremendous, positive spirit who offered great perspective and connection. This adventure would not have been the same without him and we are extremely thankful that the stars aligned in our favor in this regard. This was, by far, the best tour we have ever experienced in our travels… Marc and the Green Island tour group are highly recommended!

We had a brilliant tour with Patricio. We chose the Monuments Tour and saw everything we hoped for including the ‘maoi factory’ and the volcano crater which were highlights. Patricio’s deep knowledge of the island’s history brought to life the landscape, the archaeology and social connections. Patricio is among the very best guides we’ve had.
