How do you dog sled with out snow? Learn how we improvise by using UTV’s to mush through the stunning fall landscape. Experience the sheer excitement of fall training when the dogs get back in harness after a long summer break. Located just outside of Fairbanks, half-way to Chena Hot Springs.

What To Expect
Join us for the start of our mushing season and experience the excitement as the dogs rejoice to be back in harness again after a summer long mushing hiatus. Mush on a comfortable side-by-side as the team splashes through puddles and yips with pleasure. Fall in Alaska encompasses 3 months of the year, when temps start to drop and the scenery changes vastly from one day to the next. Foliage is short lived and only lasts for a couple of weeks. Once the leaves drop, we start going through what we call 'freeze-up' when the puddles, ponds, sloughs and rivers start to glass over. It is a very important time of year, as many of the winter trails utilize these bodies of water and if snow comes too early, it takes longer for these to freeze over. In the later part of the fall season, snow will slowly accumulate in light dustings. We typically do not have enough snow to convert from a SxS to a sled until December 1st, as we need to wait until we have at least 3'' of base to safely run a sled. What to expect: September: Warm during the day, green leaves changing into fall colors October: Cold days, leaves dropping from trees, snow accumulation November: Winter-like conditions

5.00Chase from Tukaway was a great guide. From the moment my friend and I arrived, he was so friendly and personable. We started out chatting in the yurt then he introduced us to his dogs one by one, and you can tell that he loves them all! We had great conversation throughout and cared about the small things like getting out to clean off the windshield several times or taking photos of us and the dogs. I got to spend time with the dogs afterward, then we had hot drinks inside the yurt before we went on our way. I highly recommend booking with this coop but especially with Chase!

5.00My family did a fall foliage mush and it exceeded everyone’s expectations. It was a beautiful ride in the great outdoors. Chase was a fun, personable and informative guide. We learned so much about dog mushing and their training. It was so fun to see how excited the dogs were to get going. We had our three year old and our moms and it was truly a fun experience for all ages. 10 out of 10 recommend booking a tour with this company!

5.00This was one of the highlights of our whole week in Alaska that included the fjords and Denali! Chase was super knowledgeable and kind, and clearly cares deeply for his dogs who were all so sweet and amazing. We were worried about it being strange because there was no snow, it being the summer, but the dogs love working out and it was super cool. So hands on. We want to come see Chase and his dogs again when there is snow. I recommend this experience so highly! You must do it! You will NOT be disappointed. One hundred stars.

5.00The experience was wonderful. Our guide was a former mushing competitor with his own team of dogs he still trains. While we missed the fall foliage, the snow was beautiful to travel through. We were provided special shoes because of the weather. I learned so much. Our guide was great about answering all of my questions.
