Svaneti is one of the most beautiful mountainous regions not only in Georgia, but arguably in the whole of Eastern Europe. The five days (4 nights) tour to Svaneti is an adventure & sightseeing tour accompanied with the ultimate cultural immersion experience.
Day 1 - Tbilisi - Mestia. A long but scenic drive with optional stops in Gori and Zugdidi.
Day 2 - Mestia - Chalaadi Glacier hike - Hatsvali mountain cable car ride - Mestia.
Day 3 - Mestia - Ushguli - La Maria church visit - optional hike to Shkara glacier - Mestia.
Day 4 - Mestia - Becho gorge - Shtugra waterfall hike - Mestia.
Day 5 - Mestia - Enguri hydropower station and dam visit - optional stop for lunch on Rikoti pass - Tbilisi.

Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography
The first day of the tour will be reserved for a transfer either from Tbilisi, Qutaisi or Batumi to Mestia. These locations were chosen owing to the fact that all these cities have international airports. On this day guests will check in at one of the hotels in Mestia and in the evening have a walk in the center of the town.
Mestia - Chalaadi Glacier - Hatsvali Mountain - Mestia

Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography
The second day of the tour will be reserved for a hike to Chalaadi glacier near Mestia which is one of the most beautiful glaciers of the country. The hike one way takes 45 minutes so it is from the easy ones. After finishing the hike guests accompanied with a guide will leave for Hatsvali mountain where they will get with a cable car. From there the best view on Ushba peak opens up. The main reason for visiting Hatsvali is the fascinating view. After spending some time there guests will have a lunch in one of the family owned restaurants in Mestia and after lunch there will be an opportunity to visit Mestia museum which is the home to numerous ancient Georgian artifacts.

Ushguli Ethnographic Museum
The third day of the tour will be reserved for a trip from Mestia to Ushguli. The road from Mestia to Ushguli takes 2 hours one way due to poor road conditions however it is worth it. Ushguli is the second highest populated village in Europe (the highest one is also in Georgia) and is the home to numerous ancient defensive towers. Highlight of the trip in Ushguli is the visit to La Maria church - from where the highest mountain peak of Georgia - Skhara can well be seen. The village itself is very beautiful and guests will have the opportunity to walk in the narrow and cobbled streets of the village. In case of interest there will be an opportunty to visit Ushguli museum as well. After lunch in one of the families in Ushguli guests will leave for Mestia from Ushguli.
Mestia - Shtugra Waterfall/Becho gorge - Mestia

Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography
On the fourth day of the tour guests will hike to Shtugra waterfall located at the foothills of Mount Ushba. The hike one way takes two hours but it is definitely worth it. The views during the hike are fascinating. After finishing the hike guests with the guide will go to a local family owned restaurant to try Georgian food specialties and Georgian spirit named Chacha. This will be the last day of tour before departure.
Mestia - Tbilisi
Tbilisi Mall
The fifth day of the trip will be for a transfer from Mestia either to Tbilisi, Qutaisi or Batumi. Guests can choose the final destination themselves.

5.00Zviad is one in a million! The perfect tour guide and the perfect tour. The experience was phenomenal and I can't speak more highly of the experience. This tour gives you a real authentic Georgian experience. From the hikes to the scenery to the food, everything was perfect. Zviad makes you feel at ease from the start and it truly feels like you have a Georgian friend rather than a tour guide. His general knowledge and knowledge of Georgia is beyond compare and no question is too much for him. Zviad gets to know you from the outset and shows a genuine interest in you, rather than just seeing you as business. His relationships with hosts at hotels and homestays sets the tone for a great stay. I cannot recommend this tour and Zviad more highly. A lifetime memory!

5.00Going on a tour with Zviad and his company is like traveling with a great friend that knows all the cool spots / beautiful views and wants you to feel like a local. I went on a 5 day solo tour with Zviad from Tblisi up to Mestia (via Ushgali) and he went out of his way to accommodate exactly what I wanted in terms of food, hiking and anything else! I would highly recommend Travelist Georgia to any traveler or group of travelers that wants an authentic experience and form a genuine bond during the course of the trip.

5.00Hikes in Svaneti are awesome and it is the most beautiful region of Georgia. Chalaadi glacier and becho gorge are very scenic. In becho gorge you can even swim in a kind of a natural water pool. Very satisfied.

5.00Becho gorge tour was definitely worth trying. The guide was a professional and a very nice guy as well. Optional lunch in a local family was tasty and for a very fair price. The guide recommended a nice guesthouse as well for overnight stay in a village and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

5.00Georgia was always on my mind and at last I was able to come. I found Travelist Georgia on tripadvisor. Their Svaneti tour seemed interesting so I reserved it. The tour did not disappoint and Svaneti region is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. Me and my boyfriend Leo did lots of hikes and stayed at awesome guesthouses. Highly recommended.

5.00Our tour to Svaneti with our guide Zviad was amazing. He is very knowledgeable and showed us all the great places in the region. It was my favorite part of our trip to Georgia! 😊 I would definitely recommend doing the trip with a guide, since it's a very remote area and hard to access / drive there on your own. It is better to have someone with knowledge of the local area drive you - Zviad has its own SUV, and we felt very safe during the whole trip. The guesthouse in Mestia we stayed in was also beautiful and had a very nice terrace with restaurant. The food was delicious! Overall, a great tour that I can only recommend!😍

5.00My partner and I just came back to Tbilsi from our amazing tour through Svaneti. We have also been to Kakheti and Kazbegi and this here was most definitely our favourite part of our fantastic trip to Georgia. The scenery of the mountains and iconic towers in Mestia and Ushguli was just amazing. Our guide Zviad went above and beyond to make this trip as amazing as it could possibly be and we would always book a tour with him again and recommend him to friends & family.

5.00In my opinion Svaneti is the most beautiful region in Georgia. Every direction you look, you see a snowy mountain peak while Kubdari is my favourite dish. I recommend everyone visiting Georgia to see Svaneti. Thank you.
