Located at the western base of the Pichincha volcano, with a temperate climate, possessor of an exuberant fauna and flora which make this ecological region one of the most attractive places for tourism.
We include three main activities in order to take advantage of the full day. Our goal is to make you live the experience and enjoy the day to the fullest.
We will leave Quito early in the morning, taste a typical and traditional breakfast, and then continue with the visit of the butterflies in Mindo. The Mindo butterfly farm has a great variety of species of multicolored butterflies. Here tourists learn about the growth process of butterflies and can feed them.
Our second stop will be the waterfalls, where we can enjoy the nature and beauty of the cloud forest.
For our last stop, we will visit the chocolate tour. In this place, we will be able to learn about the process and preparation of this delicacy. Finally, we will have lunch before returning to Quito.

What To Expect
Mariposas de Mindo
Here will be our first stop, the Mindo butterfly farm has a great variety of species of multicolored butterflies, we will have a brief introduction with the guide of the place, then we will enter the facilities where we will be able to observe a great variety of butterflies and their development process, and at the same time interact with them through the food that is found in the place, without a doubt an unforgettable experience.
Santuario de Cascadas
In our second stop we are going to visit the waterfalls, we will start by crossing the tarabita where we can enjoy a wonderful view of the cloud forest characteristic of Mindo, then we will hike through the forest for approximately three hours, where we will make some stops to enjoy the waterfalls and their crystal clear water.

5.00My guide was very knowledgeable about the best way to see the hummingbirds , butterflies and tropical birds in Mindo , and even too me on a hike to a waterfall at my request . He spent all day showing me around , even teaching me how to look for toucans , Spanish and culture, geography and history of Ecuador . The guides are all certified and it will s completely safe to be alone with them , if you are a female like myself traveling alone .

5.00This tour to the Mindo Cloud Forest was so much fun! Andres is a great guide. I felt very comfortable with him, which is important to me as a solo, female traveler. I was able to see and experience all the things that mattered to me without the tourist traps that I often find on tours. Hiking to the waterfalls was my favorite part of the trip, but I also loved seeing the variety of butterflies and birds at the stops we made in Mindo. Since it was just me on the private tour, I loved having the flexibility to choose what I wanted to do. I opted out of the chocolate tour and decided to do the Museo de Sitio Intiñan, which I thought would be mostly a photo opp of the equator line, but turned out to be fascinating. I will be telling stories about what I learned there and about the rest of this trip for years to come.

5.00Mindo is a beautiful place if you want to enjoy nature in the cloud forest. Andrés took me to a traditional breakfast and showed me the river. We visited butterflies and hiked to waterfalls, where I had a refreshing swim. The cacao tour was really interesting too and fun to try the chocolates. I wanted to stay two days in Mindo so I had extra time to relax and hang out with hummingbirds, have lunch and stop at Mitad del Mundo on the way back to the city. Andrés is a great guide and flexible to plan the things you want to do!

5.00What a lovely day we had! Our Mindo day trip was my favorite part of my family and I's trip to Ecuador. The pickup and drive was easy and comfortable. Along the way, we learned all about the different microclimates of the region. Andres took us along a route leading to a wonderful waterfall where we got to go swimming! On our return, we also did a chocolate tour in Mindo. A fun day all around!

5.00Andres was a great guide and his English is very good. His driving was superb and he was very knowledgeable about Mindo and locations along the way. We chose where we went and how long we stayed there. Andres managed our time to be sure we could get everything done that we wanted, without it ever becoming a “we need to move now” situation. My only regret was that I was in Ecuador for a short trip and did not get to have Andres as a guide for more locations. I strongly recommend him, his service is great and his prices are among the best.
