What To Expect
Nizwa Fort Oman
Next to the Souq (OLD MARKET) is the Nizwa Fort and castle the Fort it’s been built in 1649 and the Castle been build in 888, the Fort is a museum today and offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains, you can walk around in this impressive Fort and Castle with many passages rooms, the Fort is an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century, it was a military stronghold designed to withstand even the strongest of attacks at the time, even along the corridors, many traps were laid to deter any intruders that might have penetrated the defenses.
Nizwa Souq
Nizwa was the capital of Oman during Al Yaruba Dynasty we'll visit the famous Nizwa Old Market (Souq), a wide variety of vendors offer their goods in the streets of the souk from here you can find, vegetables, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts, Omani sweets (halwa), dates, spice, and souvenirs which are sold in authentic old market halls that few places can boast. Especially interesting is the Friday cattle market when the locals come to sell their, goats, cattle, sheep, and chickens in a circus style open marketplace.

5.00I had a wonderful experience with 'Fun and Tours' on my day trip from Muscat. Mr. Khalil was on time, made sure we were comfortable and gave us an overview of what we will cover on the trip. He answered all questions we had related to the trip. We covered the Old House, and the Oasis in the ancient village of Misfat Al Abriyeen. Next we visited Jebel Shams and then Nizwa. We had a fun experience having lunch under a tree by a dry river bed. Mr. Khalil gave us an off-roading experience through the river bed in his 4x4. He gave us a guided tour of all the spots and was kind enough to stretch the time a bit to ensure we could cover the beautiful Fort of Nizwa. Mr. Khalil is very knowledgeable about the places and culture of Oman and took us through the day as a friend would. Very satisfied with the trip. Would highly recommend.
