Kabira Bay
Kabira Bay is one of the most iconic and picturesque spots on Ishigaki Island. Famous for its emerald-green waters, white sandy beaches, and scattered islets, the bay is listed among Japan’s Top 100 Scenic Spots. While swimming is not allowed due to strong currents, you can enjoy the vibrant underwater world through a glass-bottom boat tour. The color of the sea changes depending on the time of day and weather, making each visit a unique and breathtaking experience. At Kabira Bay, you can enjoy a glass-bottom boat ride to see beautiful coral reefs and colorful tropical fish. It’s a wonderful way to experience the underwater world without diving in.
Yonago Grilled Workshop Kimusa Museum
Yonekoyaki Pottery Studio is a whimsical and colorful art space in northern Ishigaki Island, known for its giant, vibrant guardian lion statues called “Shisa.” The open-air garden is filled with playful ceramic sculptures—some towering and surreal—creating a one-of-a-kind outdoor art park perfect for photos. Visitors can walk around freely, enjoy the quirky atmosphere, and explore the on-site shop that sells handmade, original pottery items. It’s a fun and creative stop for families, couples, and anyone looking for something a little different on their island adventure.

The tour was a fantastic way to see the beautiful Ishigaki island! Our guide Yumi san took great care to create a customized itenary and gave a lovely tour across the island which included a great glass bottom ride, a beach and park for kids to play, a lovely tour of the Shisa park and the squirrel monkeys. Not to mention she took us to this amazing location to eat the yummiest burgers and gelato while looking at stunning landscape and waters. She is a fantastic photographer as well. A five star tour of the island and not to be missed. Thank you Yumi san

We had an incredible time with Yumiko. She patiently waited for us outside the cruise terminal, even when immigration caused some unexpected delays. She planned a fun itinerary for us that enabled us to see the highlights of Ishigaki. And she was flexible with the itinerary based on our interests and the extremely variable weather that day (from torrential downpours to drizzle to hot sun). We started with a glass-bottomed boat cruise in Kabira Bay - this is a "can't miss" experience. We then visited viewpoints all over the island, including the very northernmost point. We also learned about the Ishigaki culture and got to see squirrel monkeys. And we got to sample some local cuisine - donuts, pork rib with soba noodles, and gelato. Best of all, we spent the day with a lovely woman who was clearly very enthusiastic about sharing her experiences with us. Yumiko is one of the friendliest, most informative and caring tour guides we have ever used. To top it off, Yumiko is a professional photographer, so she took some amazing candid photos of us as we explored the sights. The worst part was having to say goodbye. I highly recommend Yumiko's services if you really want a full day's experience in Ishigaki.

Jane and I enjoyed the Ishigaki Private Tour riding Yumiko's SUV. Yuki speaks fluent English, she is a local girl for longer than 10 years. Besides the Ishigaki's beatiful scenes (beaches, lighthouse, glass boat viewing the sea floor with fishes and turtles, etc.), the extra bonus with this tour is the professional photography by Yumiko. She takes photos and videos to record the tour free of charge. She is a certified photographer. If you are going to Ishigaki and wanting a memorable English-speaking tour, I highly recommend Yuki and her Ishigaki Private Tour.

Cruise travelers have limited time. We are glad we had chosen a private tour in Ishigaki where there are few transportation alternatives. Although the disembarkation process is longer than usual, our guide waited for us very patiently at the dockside. Once we met, we hit the road and run. Yumiko speaks very good English. She steered us away from the crowds and yet led us to all the places we indicated we preferred. At one point, she surprised us by bringing us to a hidden paradise-like beach. Yumiko is cheerful polite and helpful. She is a photographer and helps us take a lot of beautiful pictures on that bright sunny day. It’s just so memorable and is very much worth the price we paid.
