The Game Drive into Chobe National Park will start at 6:30am. Your driver will be a professional guide with extensive knowledge on the park and its inhabitants. The park is especially known for its massive elephant population, huge array of bird species and big cats such as lion and leopard. You will discover some of the parks distinct ecosystems with dense woodland, extensive savannahs and rolling grasslands while travelling along the Caprivi flood plains. As this is a private game drive you can ask your guide to tailor your trip towards specific birdlife or wildlife if you like.
After the game drive lunch will be served at a hotel on the riverbank before getting on a boat for the Chobe River Cruise. This will give you ample opportunity to enjoy the gorgeous river scenery and extraordinarily close views of lots of animals, including elephants, hippos, crocodiles and birdlife. Relax and enjoy the complimentary drinks while gliding along the Chobe River as the sun sets.

This is an all day (early morning till evening) tour. If you’re not staying in Botswana you will need to arrange transportation to the border. That is in the fine print and easy to miss. However the effort is worth it. I did a similar tour in 2019 that was also great and this was different but also amazing. On the first I saw hundreds of giraffes and zebras, 20 elephants and no lions. On this trip we saw hundreds of elephants. We watched a group of 40 or 50 taking mud baths by the river and saw herds later. We saw 3 adult lionesses and 3 cubs that had just enjoyed a kill. The adults were chilling and the cubs were very active. They were not little cubs, more like 3/4 adult size. On the river cruise we saw many hippos including 2 fighting over a female. We got closer than I wanted to be to some large crocs lying on the shore. The sunset was beautiful.

They actually ended up switching our game drive and river cruise around so that the cruise was in the morning. This was done for maximum game viewing at those times. We saw a ton of elephants up close as well as a number of other animals, including hippos, giraffes, impala, kudu, crocodiles, baboons, Cape buffalo, warthogs, meerkats, Jesus birds and many others. The game drive was not private as promised, and we went on a set trail with another group in our vehicle, but I don’t think it would have made any difference in the experience.
