What To Expect
Batu Caves
Batu Caves is a limestone hill, which has a series of caves and cave temples, located in Gombak district, 13 kilometres (8 miles) north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu or Batu River, which flows past the hill. Batu Caves is also the name of the nearby village. Batu Caves is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia. It is also known as the 10th Caves or Hill for Lord Muruga as it is one of the ten most important shrines in India and Malaysia. The Lord Murugan statue at the foot of Batu Caves is the second tallest Hindu deity statue in the world with a heroic height of 42.7 metres (140 ft.). The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old.
Upon arrival, we will stop at the Skyway Cable Car and take a ride on one of the longest and fastest gondola lifts in Southeast Asia to the summit of Genting Highlands. Have a breathtaking experience and fabulous natural view of the mountain and forest. Like watching the forest from the sky.

5.00Our brilliant guide Nishan collected us right in time and gave us some I formation about KL on our way to Batu Caves. When we arrived he took photos of us and gave us plenty of time to climb the steps and see the temple. Then on to Genting Highlands. Nishant gave us lots of info and then we had lots of time again to enjoy our visit. The Batu Caves are worth doing, very interesting! And the steps aren’t so bad. Genting Highlands is a revelation- the cable car affords fab views even through mist. The Chinese Temple is a must. At the top we skipped the Casino and theme park, then came down and had food and did a little shopping. A great day out and good value. Thank you Nishant!

5.00Stanley was an excellent driver- really knowledgeable and friendly. The tour allowed a good amount of time at each site. Having the gondola tickets prepaid also saved a lot of time and hassle. Definitely recommend especially for families with small children as having everything organised for us made it stress free and enjoyable.

4.00Pickup wasn’t on time because of KL horrible traffic jam in morning but we could manage visiting both places . The driver Mr. John , was very professional & clear about the delay so it went well at the end of the day. If it’s your first time in KL I would suggest to do Batu Cave on another day since both places requires time.

4.00The caves are well, many steps (272), crowded, especially on weekends. The religious aspect requires women to cover their legs. I would have liked to know in advance (I didn’t know there was a religious component). The shopping center at the cable car ride is breathtaking! Nice day.
