What To Expect

***THE PRIVATE GROUP LESSON IS FOR 3 OR MORE PEOPLE*** Upon receiving booking confirmation I will contact you and give you the lesson location according to the ocean conditions for that day. On the day of the lesson we will have a short meet and greet then begin a 10-15 minute land briefing where we will go over surfing basics and ocean safety. After that we will get in the water and enjoy catching many waves as you improve your skills. It is also likely we will see Hawaiian sea turtles throughout the lesson. All surf lessons are 2 hours long and all equipment is included. Instructors are lifeguard and Red Cross CPR certified.

Andy was AWESOME!!! Great teacher. My kids and I were able to stand up right away and we surfed all morning. The kids loved him. He was super patient and really coached them to be future long term surfers. They have a new hobby to enjoy for the rest of their lives. All thanks to Andy and 808 surf school. Also gave us great recommendations for great local spots. Mahalo!

Absolutely recommend it! My girlfriend and I had a super great surf lesson with Jon. We've never ridden so many waves as we did that day! Jon did a great job. If you want to learn to surf, this is the right place for you

808 Surf School rocks!!! Reached out on short notice for a private lesson for my son. Communication by text with Mike was fast, payment was easy and directions were clear and simple. Met instructor Hugo, who was fantastic with my son. He popped right up on his first wave and had a blast for 2 hours. Was a great morning - highly recommend. Hope we see you again.

We had a great family surf lesson with Andy, we had the beach pretty much to ourselves, and all of us were surfing by the end of the lesson! Would highly recommend!

If you’re nervous about a surfing excursion or looking for that private beech feel on Oahu, book with 808 Surf School!! Surfing was a bucket list item for my 13 year old daughter and I (Dad) tagged along. While she was admittedly better than me, our 2 hour private session flew by. We were both up on our boards many times and by the end totally comfortable on our boards. Our instructor Kaiser was so much fun. He encouraged us the whole time and gave great tips to make us more confident through the afternoon. He embodied the Aloha vibe. The beach was perfect. Not crowded like some of the other tours we’ve seen, and the waves kept coming! Do yourself a favor and book with 808 Surf School!

Had a blast with Andy! Our family was visiting from Alaska and wanted to get a little surf time in. The beach we took our lesson was across the street from where we were staying in Punaluu, super convenient and great learners beach spot. He was chill and a great teacher, my kids were ages 9, 11, 14, 17 and my husband and I did the lesson as well. 🤙🏽

We had an incredible experience with 808 Surf School! Our family of four (ages 11 to 52) took a lesson with Mike as our instructor, and we couldn’t be more pleased. We asked for a bit of a challenge, and Mike delivered—pushing us just enough to grow our skills while always keeping us safe and confident. His communication was clear and encouraging, and he worked tirelessly to make sure we got exactly the experience we were hoping for. The balance of fun, challenge, and safety made it a perfect session for both the kids and adults. Mike’s professionalism and positive energy truly made this one of the highlights of our trip. Highly, highly, highly recommend 808 Surf School. You won’t be disappointed!
