We used Lakin tours to book private local guides in Chichen Itza and Ek Balaam. Both tours were great, and both guides did a good job at engaging with our 8 year old son. Henry and William were great guides, and we appreciated their unique perspectives as people who have grown up in the area. Their cultural perspectives added to the richness of the tours. They also spoke great English. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic tour with Enrique! He was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide. Our family group ranged in age from teens to grandparents and everyone agreed that it was a great tour. Lakin Tours was very helpful and provided excellent directions and information. Highly recommend this tour and would book with this company in future.

Our whole family really enjoyed our tour with Enrique! He was very knowledgeable and engaging. He had extra visuals to share the history and add context. We had a mix of ages from tweens to grandparents and everyone was so glad we got to do this tour. The company also provided really clear directions and arranged for our tickets. I would highly recommend this tour and would absolutely book them again.

I decided to book a private guided tour with LakinTours to see the north plaza and south plaza of Chichen Itza and was not disappointed at all. Booking the tour was very easy and just involved a little bit of back and forth communication on Whatsapp. It cost 1500 pesos for the tour and I just had to pay a 30% deposit in advance to schedule the time and paid the rest on the day of the tour. Our private guide, Martin, also made sure to have the entry tickets available with him so that we didn't have to wait in line to buy them ourselves and we simply reimbursed him in cash. The other great thing was that although we were scheduled to start the tour at 8:30am, we arrived early at 8:00am, and we were able to start the tour right away because Martin had also arrived early. Martin's family is local to the area, and his knowledge of Chichen Itza was excellent, as was his english and his enthusiasm. Martin had a good balance to his tour mixing in a comfortable walking pace and pointing out important facts of the ruins, especially some of the notable acoustic qualities of the El Castillo pyramid and the ball court. The tour lasted two hours and we learned a lot about Chichen Itza. I would highly recommend Martin as a private guide and LakinTours to anyone.

Martin was the best guide ever. We have booked lots of private tours all over the world and loved Martin. His love and pride of his culture shined through. His knowledge was amazing, even when we asked him obscure trivia. Book this guy, you won't be disappointed.

We booked a private tour of Chichen Itza for 2 people and it was a highlight of our weekend! Our point of contact, Maria, also arranged transportation from our hotel in Merida to Chichen Itza for an additional fee. She was responsive, accommodating, and an excellent go-between. The tour guide, Martin, was an amazing and engaging storyteller who answered questions and shared detailed explanations of the ruins, the history, and the people at every step of the 2 hour tour. He is a federally licensed guide who guides in English, Spanish, and French with 10 years of experience and was the best tour guide you could have asked for and we highly recommend him to any travelers visiting Chichen Itza. Our driver Pablo was polite, timely, and drove us safely to and from Chichen Itza. He was an excellent driver, kept a clean and safe car, and we would also recommend his services to anyone looking for transportation in Merida. The tour is more expensive than others on Viator but it is totally worth it. You get what you pay for — experienced, hard working, and quality guides and drivers. The tour also departs earlier than most, and that is also totally worth it. We were one of the first 10 cars in line, first to enter, and experienced aspects of Chichen Itza that you can’t enjoy easily later because of the noisy crowds once the Cancun tour buses arrive at 10am. Thank you LakinTours for organizing our tour! We had a great time.

Information beforehand about the tour and how to get there was so helpful. And Henry got our tickets beforehand for us and was a wonderful guide - so knowledgeable friendly and considerate of our time and what we would want to see.

Perfect experience in chichen itza with the guide Jonathan who speaks Portuguese. Maia guide with excellent knowledge of Portuguese. He had a lot of knowledge of history and accompanied us throughout the archaeological site which is fantastic. We went by rental car and it was quiet. We arrived very early at 7:30 and it was great because chichen itza was empty. Imperdible. Congratulations Likintour and Jonathan

The understanding Rey shared about the Mayan relevance placed on the gods, rain god and serpent god, was very interesting. We both felt the better understanding of the science and mathematical capacities of the Mayan peoples, was the highlight.
