Basically most of the hiking trail are design for professional hikers who have experience in hiking mountains. However, it not for Mount Batur, it is suitable for beginner and well as professional. The trekking can be completed in two hours, which will not exhaust you too much. The trekking is level as medium to difficult, some people might find the trekking easy but for a beginner it can be classified as medium. Since the length for the hiking is not to far and the difficulties are still bellow the professional level, people often come to Mount Batur with their family. You can also bring your children to hike, because it is also suitable for children who are around elementary age.

What To Expect

The sunrise trekking was such a beautiful experience! The guides were super nice and really attentive to us the whole time. The view from the top was amazing, totally worth it!

We loved this climb with our guide Okta. She was very professional. We unfortunately had clouds at the summit, but the experience was still superb. The climb lasts about 1 hour and the difficulty is easy-medium.
Great experience with Waka as guide.

I am newly hiking a volcano mountain and I agreed for a moderate to aggresive trek thinking shorter time and 0 crowd is the best option! The trip changed my whole perspective about surrender. It onlyyyy happens when you are in a situation where you have 0 choice but to climb through those loose ravels and sharp rocks for most of the hike...and u cant grip onto the rocks for support ! Okta and Waka are fantastic guides and God- sent, as they kept me safe and encouraged me to continue even when I felt like giving up in this route tht i chose! Highly recommended if u wanna surrender to nature for the outcome💚🤍💚 tht is beyond anythg i have ever seen!!!

Such an unforgettable experience. Not too demanding for me but there are steep parts while climbing. The whole experience last about 7-8h. They pick you up with the van with AC between 2-2:30am. In the base camp we received our breakfast box and coffee/tea. You also receive flashlights. The hike starts around 4am and it takes about 2h to reach the top but normal speed. We had 3 guides and we were sticking together until the first part (when there is still roads). After going off roads, the guides adjusted their speed. People who were going faster stuck with one guide and the others that were taking it slower with the other two. We continued with Okta in the first group reaching the top in less around 6am. She is a fenomenal guide always looking after the group, making sure you are fine. She also takes great pictures and videos. At the top there are benches where you can sit and enjoy the sunrise. There is also a shack where you can buy hot tea, hot chocolate or coffee for 30k. After that we went around the crater to the hot steam and then down, stopping at points for pictures and rest. All in all it was an amazing trip that I will never forget. Big shout out to Okta and Eddy.
