What To Expect
Palace of Parliament
By far the most imposing and well-known tourist attraction in Bucharest is the Palace of the Parliament or as Nicolae Ceausescu called it, the People's Palace. Located high on Arsenal Hill, the current Palace of the Parliament is certified as the second administrative building in the world after the Pentagon. The building described in numbers and statistics is astonishing: 270 meters long, 245 meters wide, 86 meters high, 92 meters deep (below ground level), 1,000,000 cubic meters of Ruschita marble, 700 architects, and the numbers don't stop there. ! Visiting is only possible with a reservation made 24-48 hours in advance, and the visitor is required to have an identity card or passport on him (not a driver's license or insurance card). The standard tour lasts approximately 1 hour.

5.00My tour was led by Victor, who was very enthusiastic and charming during the whole experience. He gave me a (solo) private tour via car, but also with some walking for certain sites along Victorei road (ie Athenaeum, Senate building, Revolution Square) and again at the Parliament building (People's House) along other walkable sites. Overall, his animated and personable approach to leading the tour brings Bucuresti to life in a memorable way. This was one of the last things I did on the evening before leaving the city and am so glad I did. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

5.00We are a family of 12 adults and we traveled with Daniel to Sinaia. Daniel is a lovely man who received us from the hotel with butter cookies that his wife had made especially for Christmas. He was calm the whole way, made sure we had breakfast, smiled the whole way, treated the elderly and children well ،Especially shouted at the old grandfather . It was a very enjoyable experience. I highly recommend going on a trip with him.Daniel is a lovely guide, 10/10.

5.00I would give him 20 stars if I could! I had an amazing tour. I saw so many beautiful sites and have great pictures. Victor is a wonderful person and I'm thankful I had him as my guide. He also has a wonderful family and I know this because I left my sunglasses in his car and he dropped them off the next day with his lovely family. Highly recommend this tour and ask for Victor, he will give you a amazing tour!

5.00If you want to make Bucharest come alive you must do it with Victor Cobzaru. He not only has a thorough knowledge of the history of Romania and its culture but also of the wines from Moldavia, good beers to taste and especially classical music - his daughter Anna-Maria being one of the new bright stars of Romanian violinists He has lived through it all, experienced it first hand and is able to take you on a personal journey through Bucharest and Romania. Be sure to ask for Victor Cobzaru
Poor behavior of the tour guide Victor. He gave wrong info on occasion. He wasn’t considerate towards other visitors.

2.00Our guide VICTOR was pleasant & received us with water bottles in the vehicle, which was appreciated. We expected the tour to be a little longer than just two hours including pick & drop from our hotel. Here are some observations that we had: 1- he did not know the exact answers to all the questions and just made stuff up sometimes. For example when asked what the population of Bucharest is, he said 4 million when in actuality is more like 1.7-2 million. Similarly, when I asked about a couple of buildings he did not know what they were exactly so just up things. Talking about the fountains on Strada Union, he told us that they were 14 fountains when in actuality, they are 40+, perhaps 44 to be exact. When I asked him how long it took for the palace of parliament to be constructed, he answered 4 years when in actuality, it took them close to 2 decades 2- In the Atheneum’s main hall, he showed his daughter‘s video playing violin at a very loud volume on his phone. Other groups on tours were getting disturbed by the loud noise & shushed him, but he didn’t care saying that this wasn’t a church so he can be as loud as he wants. His attitude wasn’t courteous towards them & was in-fact rash.
