I had an amazing afternoon and learned so much about the city and Peruvian food. We tasted so many different things, and all local, no tourist traps :). Very knowledgeable and just a really nice guide. 😁

John was a great guide. We ate all sorts of foods and experienced the market that is definitely not designed for tourists. We tried: anticuchos, ceviche, many fruits, chichamorada, some snacks, and more.

A truly memorable food tour in Lima historical center . John took me to the most local places , made me meet some great people , who work their produce wholeheartedly . We had a very nice walk around the lovely streets of colonial Lima and the Mercado Central. Everything was so delicious ! The Churros , the Papas con Huevos , the ceviche , the Ponche de Maca , all the various piscos , an incredible diversity of local fruits , etc … John is also extremely knowledgeable about the history of each place so I learned a lot during that tour !!! Don’t hesitate to book John if you want to have a great time in Lima . You will feel like being with a friend .

John treated us like family as soon as we met up! We had a great time, dancing in the square, eating picarones, making new friends along the way. We would stop at different stalls because John “had a feeling” and it was like the yummy food was talking to him! We walked, we laughed, we danced and learned! We wish we could go back to Lima soon! If so, we will definitely book with this travel company and request John!

When I booked this tour, I didn’t realize is was private. So as a solo traveler, I had John’s full attention and learned so much about Peru’s traditions, history and, of course, food! I am not a “foodie” at all, I am actually quite fussy. Even with having me as a tough customer, he did everything he could to make it fun for me! I will be here for a month and I know I could call on him for a cooking class or a Spanish lesson, which I desperately need! Thanks so much, John, you were great!

Great way to get to know the many different parts of the Peruvian cuisine. John clearly knows his way around downtown Lima and I got to try most of the staples of the Peruvian cuisine. Many different fresh local fruits at the market, classic Peruvian drinks and all kinds of street food, both savoury and sweet. Make sure to come hungry, there's a lot of good food to try on this tour!

John was superb! He was very punctual to the meeting point and took me through several food-tasting stands as well as a tour of Lima's central market. He was very professional but also easy to converse with. I highly recommend this tour.
