Petronas Twin Towers

Dataran Merdeka

Merdeka Square, also known as Dataran Merdeka, is a historic landmark located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The name "Merdeka" means "independence" in Malay, and the square holds great significance in Malaysian history as it was here that the Union Jack was lowered for the last time at midnight on August 31, 1957, marking Malaysia's independence from British colonial rule.
