Okomfo Anokye Sword Site
Okomfo Anokye Sword site is the exact location the Asante kingdom started. The legendary fetish priest of the Asantes called Okomfo Anokye planted a sword on the ground and told the Asantes that he is not planting the sword to throw a challenge to any other person, but to signify the unity among the Asantes. Since then nobody has been able to uproot the sword from the ground. He planted the sword in 1695 and nobody has been able to pull it including the late former heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali.
Manhyia Palace Museum
Manhyia Palace Museum is the building which the britishes built for the Asantes as compensation when their king was returning from exile in Seychelles, but the Asantes rejected their offer and later paid for it before using it as their palace.

We arranged a sightseeing tour with Black City Tours during our time in Kumasi, Ghana, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. The team was professional, responsive, and genuinely friendly, making the whole process smooth and enjoyable. We were picked up and dropped off at our requested location, which made things very convenient. Our driver was safe and reliable, and our guide Daniel was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing interesting insights throughout the day. The tour itself was a fantastic mix of cultural and local experiences. We visited a cocoa farm where we learnt about the production process as well as sampling a few Cocoa based products. We also learnt about the history of the Kente cloth during a visit to a weaving centre and watched the experienced weavers at work! We visited the Kumasi Centre for National Culture and took in the vibrant atmosphere of Kejetia Market. Overall, it was a great tour, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Black City Tours in the future. Thank you Daniel, it was a pleasure to meet you.
