We had a day to kill in Calcutta before our flight so we thought we would take this tour and so glad we did. Muzaffar picked us up from the airport terminal right on time and gave us a brilliant day, taking us to some places we might never have found on our own, like the flower market under the Howrah Bridge - noisy, chaotic and utterly brilliant - and an insightful tour of the Victoria Museum. We had a fabulous grounding in 18th and 19th century history in the colonial centre, and a taste of the vibrant feel of modern Calcutta in the Indian Coffee House. Muzaffar was a fabulous guide - he seemed to know half of Calcutta - and a big thanks to the driver, too. Calcutta traffic is unbelievable. Thanks again Muzaffar for a brilliant day.

Absolutely fabulous half day touring the city of joy. Limited time in Kolkata so this was perfect to get a good insight and feel of this incredible city. My guide, Muzaffa, was superb - inspiring, knowledgeable, friendly, approachable whilst remaining the consummate professional. We took in many sights without ever feeling rushed. I now have a much greater understanding and knowledge of this city thanks to all his input. Big shout out to the driver as well on what was a particularly challenging traffic day due to road closures - no issues despite Kolkata throwing everything possible at him! Thank you for such an amazing outing - such a memorable tour and one greatly appreciated.

We have taken about 15 tours in India in the last six weeks and Muzaffar’s Kolkata tour was by far the best! He is an excellent communicator, giving just enough interesting information without overwhelming you with too much detail. His anecdotes were particularly poignant and made the city’s fascinating history jump alive. I have been to Kolkata MANY times but I saw some things for the first time, including the beautiful Saint John’s Church and the raucous flower market! We had some delicious treats along the way and the time passed very quickly. We rode around in style in a a beautiful air conditioned small bus for the five of us. I can highly recommend this tour!

This highly recommended private tour of Kolkata offers a truly enriching and memorable experience, with Muzaffar as an absolutely fantastic guide. Guide and Experience Muzaffar is an extremely knowledgeable guide, articulate and passionate about the history, culture, and details of Kolkata and India in general. He answered all our probably weird questions, making the entire experience engaging and fun. We learned a significant amount about the city and we would not have been able to set up such a tour by ourselves. Muzaffar provides an exceptional service and is nice, kind, friendly, and very flexible, easily adjusting the tour to our personal preferences and requests. The driver is also to praise for navigating the Kolkata traffic. Tour Highlights The tour hits all the main sites but can be customized. This is what we visited: We started by a memorable and humbling visite at Mother Teresa house museum and tomb. Our guide also took us to three Jain temples in Kolkata (Dadabari and Mahavira Temple), spread over three complexes. We then went to New Market, a massive olf covered market where you can find everything from needle to diamond. Quite an experience. We bought some spices and tea. We visited the old english district with massive buildings and later the park around Victoria Memorial (opted for not going inside) and St Paul's Cathedral. The Flower Market was quite an authentic experience with Muzaffar guiding us through the narrow streets below the Howrah Bridge. The peaceful visit to the "potter's district in Kumartuli to see amazing clay sculptures being created for the festivals and learning about it was for me the highlight. We also went to College Street for coffee and snacks at the Indian Coffee House and were gifted a poetry book by Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel prize of litterature. Value This private tour is really the most effective way to see the city. The high quality of the experience, especially with Muzaffar, will save you time and headache if this is your first time in India and a little apprehensive to discover such a big city.
